Pretending to love a female student then tricking her into being sold to China
Through Facebook, Cuong got to know D and flirted with her, then discussed with his two friends to entice D to go to China to sell her to a brothel owner.
On June 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Van Yen District, Yen Bai Province initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and temporarily detained 3 subjects including: Giang Van Cuong (19 years old), Ly Seo Manh (19 years old), Ly Seo Su (20 years old), all residing in Bao Yen District, Lao Cai Province for the act of buying and selling children.

Previously, the school and family of Vang Thi D (16 years old), a female student at a boarding school for ethnic minorities in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province, filed a complaint with the Van Yen district police about their daughter being tricked and sold to China by a group of people in the border area of Lao Cai province.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Van Yen District Police Department promptly verified and investigated to clarify. Following the criminal's trail, Van Yen District Police identified where D was being held and coordinated with the Chinese Police to rescue the victim and reunite her with her family. Along with that, the related subjects, Giang Van Cuong, Ly Seo Manh and Ly Seo Su, were arrested one after another.
At Van Yen District Police, the subjects confessed that in early April 2016, Cuong got to know D through Facebook and flirted with her. After the “fish took the bait”, Cuong discussed with Manh and Su to entice D to take her to China and sell her to a brothel owner.
At 6:00 p.m. on April 7, the group invited D to go out, and without any suspicion, D agreed to follow the group to the border area of Bao Thang district, Lao Cai province. At 1:00 a.m. the next morning, Cuong used force to threaten and force D to follow a strange man to a house in the Vietnam-China border area, Lao Cai province, and then handed him over to a Chinese couple to receive 15,000 yuan.
The case is being investigated and handled by Van Yen district police.
