U21 National Qualifiers: Song Lam Nghe An vs Viettel, Hanoi
(Baonghean.vn) - This year's National U21 Football Championship qualifying round has 22 participating teams, divided into 3 groups with a round-robin format.
According to the draw, the U21 Song Lam Nghe An team will be in Group A hosted by Viettel Sports Center, including 7 teams: Viettel, People's Public Security, Hanoi, Nam Dinh, Phu Dong FC, Song Lam Nghe An, Than Quang Ninh.
Group B is hosted by Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, including 7 teams: Hoang Anh Gia Lai, B. Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dak Lak, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, SHB Da Nang.
Group C is hosted by Thanh Long Sports Center, including 8 teams: An Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Pho Hien, Vinh Long.

The 2019 U21 qualifying round will be divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 will take place from June 19 to 23 (or June 26) with 3 matches and Phase 2 from August 30 to September 8 with 4 matches.
The teams compete in a round robin to determine rankings in each group. The 3 first-place teams, 3 second-place teams and 1 third-place team with higher points and indexes in the three groups will compete in the final round.
The final round of the National U21 Tournament is scheduled to take place from October 10 to 20, 2019 at Pleiku Stadium - Pleiku City. SLNA is still the team holding the record for the number of championships in this tournament with 5 times in 2000; 2001; 2002; 2012; 2014.
Coach Nguyen Dinh Dung is leading the SLNA U21 team this year. In 2018, SLNA U21 won a ticket to the final round but did not get past the group stage./.
