According to the scene recorded by Dan Tri reporter, the above-mentioned sưa tree root is 2.1m long, 1.1m in diameter, the distance between two roots is 3m long, the core has a hollow hole of about 60cm, weighs about 2 tons, and is worth about 3 billion VND (1kg of sưa tree currently costs about 15 million VND).
Many locals believe that this su tree root has existed for at least decades under the stream, because after being salvaged, many parts of the tree trunk had rotted.

After recovering the above-mentioned sưa tree, Mr. Tran Quang Vu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bo Trach District, said that the functional force will bring this sưa tree to the Bo Trach Forest Protection Department for weighing and measurement, then hand it over to the People's Committee of Quang Binh Province for appraisal and auction to the public. The value of the auctioned asset will be deducted as a percentage for the discoverer according to regulations.
According to a private source of Dan Tri, with the current price of rosewood, many rosewood dealers said that at least Mr. Thoi and his son would receive about 900 million VND.
Previously, this morning (February 26), the work of salvaging billion-dollar rosewood in the Trooc stream area, Thanh Sen village, Phuc Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh was urgently deployed by the functional forces of Quang Binh province.
According to Dan Tri, this morning, authorities mobilized two more excavators, a bulldozer, and a dump truck to continue salvaging a billion-dollar piece of rosewood stuck under rocks in Khe Trooc.
At the scene, an excavator filled the soil across the stream, and at the same time opened a new flow around the old stream. Then both excavators moved closer to the location near the rosewood and continued to use chains to pull the wood up.

Although the salvage work was carried out very urgently by the authorities, by 9am this morning, the rosewood log was still lying in the rock cavity, and the two chains continued to be broken.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Van Duan, Deputy Head of the Quang Binh Forest Protection Department, said that to ensure absolute safety for the rosewood log located under Trooc stream, on the evening of February 25, the Department arranged more than 90 people, including police and forest rangers, to be on duty around the location of the rosewood log.
“At around 2 a.m. on February 26, more than 30 people from outside tried to break in, diving into the stream to cut rosewood. However, the authorities promptly discovered and resolutely pushed this group of people out of the area,” Mr. Duan added.
