VOV puts into use FM broadcasting station in Ly Son island district

On May 26, Voice of Vietnam inaugurated and put into use the FM broadcasting station in Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province with a total investment of more than 7 billion VND.

The construction of this broadcasting station aims to expand the radio coverage area (focusing on covering the VOV2 system and part of the VOV1 program along with weather information, natural disaster prevention, storms, etc. in the seas and islands of Vietnam); ensure the provision of diverse and rich radio services to all people, meeting the information and foreign propaganda requirements of the Party and State. At the same time, increase strong, stable, continuous and high-quality coverage in the seas with economic activities of Vietnam.

The FM broadcasting station consists of a 5KW FM transmitter system, an 8-dipole antenna, synchronous equipment, and ancillary equipment systems. When put into operation, the station operates with a coverage area of ​​about 60km, ensuring service for 20,000 people on the outpost island of Ly Son. The station is located in the premises of Ly Son District Radio Station to save investment costs and improve the efficiency of using state budget capital.

The Voice of Vietnam has cooperated with Vietnam Television to share infrastructure and equipment systems to serve radio and television coverage in the island region. In addition, Vietnam Television has also invested in a 45m high antenna tower system.

The project "Covering the Voice of Vietnam in coastal islands" of the Voice of Vietnam has a total budget of more than 95 billion VND.

Up to now, the project has been deployed on Cat Ba Island, Bach Long Vy (Hai Phong city), Truong Sa Lon Island (Khanh Hoa), Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai) and Phu Quoc Island (Kien Giang)./.
