That is the opinion of Dr. Hoang Van Quang in response to the incident where a VTV announcer in the program Chuyen Dong 24h compared fans and ticket buyers to "hungry tigers".

On the evening of January 20, at the 24-hour Movement Program broadcast on VTV1, the announcer compared the crowd and fans jostling to buy tickets for the Hai Phong - Hoang Anh Gia Lai football match to "hungry tigers".

VTV inserted a picture comparing football ticket buyers to "hungry tigers".

The original text of the comparison between ticket buyers and "hungry tigers" is as follows: "If tickets are delicious food, then perhaps ticket buyers should be compared to hungry tigers. A fun comparison to see how great the demand for tickets to watch tomorrow's match at Lach Tray Stadium is."

In particular, to allow viewers to visually compare the ticket buyers and the “hungry tigers”, the animator intentionally placed two pictures: the ticket buyers and the tigers side by side. This made many people angry when the station compared humans to animals, in the most “animal, instinctive” state – hunger.

Last night, Infonet reporter had an interview with Dr. Hoang Van Quang, Lecturer of Journalism, currently working at Hanoi National University.

Dr. Hoang Van Quang expressed his shock at such an offensive statement. According to him, this is an unacceptable mistake.

He shared: “Sports fans have passion and love for football, even if they overdo it, they cannot be compared to animals, especially to animals that are hungry. This shows that the understanding and sensitivity of the program's production team is problematic. Such statements are an insult to feelings and violate ethical principles…”

Dr. Hoang Van Quang also shared: "In teaching practice, I also see many reporters, MCs, and TV editors who are too young, do not have much life experience, experience in behavior, especially behavior on television."

Explaining this reason, Dr. Hoang Van Quang also emphasized that there needs to be a mechanism to prevent such a situation from happening again. TV channels must be refined and must aim for quality, not massive development.
