The case of 3 newborn deaths: Injecting wrong drug causing uterine contractions
Because the hospital lost power at the time of vaccination, the vaccination staff mistakenly took the drug that causes uterine contractions instead of the hepatitis B vaccine to inject the child.
According to a private source of Lao Dong newspaper, authorities have made an initial conclusion on the cause of death of three newborns after being vaccinated against hepatitis B on July 20 at Huong Hoa General Hospital (Quang Tri).
At the time of vaccination, the hospital lost power so the vaccination staff used their phones to search for the vaccine. Because the vaccine was stored together with the uterine contraction drug Oxytocin, instead of taking the hepatitis B vaccine, they mistakenly took the uterine contraction drug to inject the 3 children.

Therefore, the three deaths were similar. This was clarified when the authorities took the remaining medicine in the syringes that had been injected into the children and tested it.
Second mistake, when vaccinating infants, medical staff did not take them to a separate vaccination room for children but left them in the vaccination room for adults.
Currently, the police have decided to prosecute the case to clarify the negligence and irresponsibility of two medical staff at Huong Hoa General Hospital, Quang Tri, who violated vaccination safety regulations, leading to death./.
