Car smashing case due to suspected kidnapping: Family determined to win custody of child

August 26, 2016 11:01

(Baonghean.vn)- On August 26, Colonel Ho Minh Thang, Chief of Cua Lo Town Police, said that they are continuing to investigate the case of people blocking cars and breaking car windows because they suspected a group of people had come to "kidnap" a 2-year-old child.

According to Colonel Ho Minh Thang, the person who took the child Vu Tien T. (2 years old) away was Ms. Vu Thi Ha (29 years old) - the child's biological mother. However, because Ms. Ha's actions were suspicious, and she was accompanied by 4 strangers with unusual actions, the people surrounded and blocked the car.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh (78 years old, great-grandfather of T.), residing in block 3, Thu Thuy ward, Cua Lo town, said: “That morning, Ha came to visit the house, saying that he had just come back from Hanoi to visit his son. At that time, T. was still sleeping on the bed, I sat for a while and got tired so I went to lie down. Just a moment later, I heard a noise outside the gate, when I woke up, I couldn't find him anymore."

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh recounted the incident.

Mrs. Pham Thi Phuc (55 years old, T.'s grandmother) added that at that time, there were only her and her great-grandfather in the house, while the children had all gone to work. While Mrs. Phuc was in the kitchen, Ha took her grandchild away without her knowing.

“When Ha came into the house, she didn’t say anything about taking the baby away. We just thought about visiting her. She’s a mother and her baby, we can’t stop her. But the family definitely won’t let Ha raise the baby,” said Mrs. Phuc.

It is known that in 2011, Mr. NVV (26 years old, son of Mrs. Phuc) went to Korea to work. Here, Mr. V. lived with Ms. Ha as husband and wife and gave birth to T. Because they had not registered their marriage, after giving birth to T., Ms. Ha brought her child back to Nghe An for her grandparents to raise.

Last year, Mr. V. was deported from Korea for working illegally. At the same time, Ms. Ha had a relationship with another man and broke up with Mr. V. After returning to Vietnam, Ha went from Hanoi to Mr. V.'s house with the intention of bringing her son to Hanoi to raise.

“The family did not know about this, if they knew they would definitely not agree. Even though she is the child’s mother, Ha does not have a stable place, no job or house, how can she take good care of the child? From the time she was born until now, she has neglected the child, now she is taken away without saying anything, who would accept that?” Mr. Thanh said.

Also according to Mr. Thanh: The family will have custody of T. until he turns 18. At that time, it will be up to T. to decide who to follow, but now the family cannot give her to Ms. Ha.

Suspecting kidnapping, people smashed the car.

Previously, as reported: at around 9:00 a.m. on August 24, Vu Thi Ha (residing in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi) and 4 young men drove car with license plate 29A - 17363 to Mr. NVV's house to visit his son.

Here, Ha carried her sleeping son, Vu Tien T., to the car. Seeing Ha showing many unusual signs, a neighbor shouted "kidnapping" so the locals ran out and stopped the car.

When people asked to take the baby out, Ms. Ha and this group still deliberately drove away and made challenging statements. Too angry, people broke the car window and deflated the tires.

Upon receiving the information, Thu Thuy Ward Police and Cua Lo Town Police were present at the scene, preventing extremist actions and investigating the incident.
