Winter-Spring crop 2012 - 2013 buy temporary storage of maximum 1 million tons of rice
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has just agreed to apply the 2012 Winter-Spring crop mechanism to temporarily purchase and store up to 1 million tons of rice equivalent for the 2012 crop.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies, units and localities to monitor market developments and submit to the Prime Minister for specific decisions on the quantity and time of temporary purchase of paddy and rice for the 2012-2013 Winter-Spring crop. At the same time, the Ministry of Finance announced the target rice price for the 2012-2013 Winter-Spring crop in January 2013.
The mechanism for purchasing and storing rice in 2012 is applied according to Decision No. 287/QD-TTg dated March 9, 2012 and Decision No. 812/QD-TTg dated July 2, 2012 of the Prime Minister. According to the provisions of Decision No. 287/QD-TTg, the State Budget will support 100% of the interest rate on loans for purchasing and storing rice; the maximum period of temporary storage with interest support is 3 months.
