Vu Minh Tuan - Outstanding Youth Union Secretary received the 26-3 award

(Baonghean.vn) -With initiatives, models and solutions applied effectively in the work of the Youth Union as well as the youth movement in the locality, Mr. Vu Minh Tuan - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dien Ky commune (Dien Chau) was honored to receive the 26-3 award of the Central Youth Union. This is an annual award to honor the talent and dedication of grassroots youth union cadres.

The first impression when meeting Vu Minh Tuan is that he is quite decisive, dynamic and mature. Although he graduated from university with a major in accounting, he is closely involved in the youth union and youth movement in the locality. As the “leader” of the union, he always researches and struggles to have many programs, methods, initiatives... to effectively apply to the reality of his locality.

The very ordinary and practical solutions that Mr. Tuan proposed were always enthusiastically responded to by the youth union members. First of all, it is necessary to mention the promulgation of internal regulations in meeting and activities.It stipulates administrative penalties for youth union members who are late, not serious or do not wear Vietnamese youth uniforms when participating in meetings and movement activities. The amount of fines collected will be added to the fund to visit and encourage students in difficult circumstances; families with meritorious services; and war invalids. Through implementation, the situation of lateness and unserious behavior in participating in meetings of a number of youth union members in 9 rural youth union branches and 3 school youth union branches has been corrected. Next is the construction of a model of youth union members participating in traffic who must wear helmets and not drink alcohol. Accordingly, in addition to being reminded and criticized in front of the whole union, those who are found to have violated the law will also be fined from 50,000 to 100,000 VND. Thanks to that, during the recent Lunar New Year 2013, there were no traffic accidents in Dien Ky commune.

Facing the current difficulties in gathering rural youth union members, in order for youth projects and tasks in the area to be practical and effective, leader Vu Minh Tuan and the commune Youth Union Executive Committee also proposed an initiative to build a resolution on coordination and mutual support between rural youth union branches. This resolution not only strengthens solidarity between youth union branches but also ensures the quantity and quality of projects and tasks, creating more funding for union activities. In 2012, Dien Ky commune Youth Union carried out 8 youth projects and tasks (dredging canals, environmental sanitation, renovating cultural houses...) worth more than 10 million VND.

According to Vu Minh Tuan, one of the issues that he is always concerned about is capital, jobs and business orientation for rural youth to help them start a business right on their homeland. Therefore, in addition to developing clubs and groups to help each other eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, and effective savings and loan groups, Tuan and the Commune Youth Union Executive Committee also coordinate to promote training activities on science and technology in cultivation, animal husbandry, vocational guidance and job introduction for young people. In the past year alone, the Dien Ky Commune Youth Union Executive Committee has coordinated with the Dien Chau District Vocational Training Center to organize 3 industrial sewing training classes attracting nearly 150 young people to participate. After the courses, up to now, more than 100 people have been accepted to work at Korean garment factories located in the 3 communes of Dien Hong, Dien Thap and Dien Ky. The Commune Youth Union currently manages 3 savings and loan groups with a total outstanding debt of 2,826 million VND. Thanks to loans from savings groups in the area, many models of young people doing good business have appeared, earning tens to hundreds of millions of VND/year. Typical examples include the carpentry workshop model of Mr. Thang and Mr. Quyet in village 3; the transportation business of Mr. Trieu in village 7; the Euro Window glass workshop of Mr. Giap in village 2...

With his outstanding contributions and achievements as Secretary of the Commune Youth Union and Chairman of the Youth Union of Dien Ky Commune, Vu Minh Tuan is one of the two representatives of the grassroots youth union cadres of Nghe An and one of 82 outstanding grassroots youth union secretaries nationwide.was honored to receive the 26-3 award from the Central Youth Union on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of the Youth Union's tradition. For him, this is an honor, pride and also a motivation to strive and contribute more to the work of the Youth Union and the youth movement.
