In Thanh Tung commune, Thanh Chuong district, since early afternoon, many neighbors have come to support the family in preparing the funeral, waiting for the body of Ha Cao Ky (born in 1991) to return.

At around 6:45 p.m., the car carrying Mr. Ky arrived at his hometown. Mr. Ha Van Tan (60 years old, Mr. Ky's father) ran out and hugged the coffin, refusing to let go. Seeing the father crying next to his son's coffin, no one could help but feel heartbroken.

“We heard the news early this morning, but Mr. Tan still did not believe it was true until he saw his son’s coffin. It was unexpected that at his age he would have to personally hold his own son’s funeral,” said a relative.

In the kitchen, Mrs. Hoang Thi Thao (56 years old, Ky's mother) cried and screamed her son's name. When she heard the bad news, she fainted on the spot. It is known that Ky is Mrs. Thao's third child, a very filial person. Before going to work as a factory worker, he promised to send money to help his parents repair the house.

At the house of Mr. Tran Van Sang (born in 1989, residing in Thanh Khe commune, Thanh Chuong district), the atmosphere of mourning was also covered. Due to poor health, since hearing the news of her husband's death, Ms. Hoa fainted repeatedly, and everyone had to ask the doctor to give her blood to help her get up.

“Since hearing the news of Sang’s death, his wife has been fainting. It’s so pitiful, the child is still young, and the wife is 7 months pregnant. Now the mother is old, the wife is young, and the child is small, who can they rely on?” said Ms. Tran Thi Cuc (Mr. Sang’s sister).

In the house, Mrs. Phan Thi Tam (Sang’s mother) just lay on the bed, calling her son’s name. “Come back to me, Sang! You promised you would come back this Tet”…

It is known that due to the difficult life, in 2013, Mr. Sang had to apply for a job as a factory worker. Recently, he saved some money to send back to his wife to renovate the house, but still had to borrow nearly 300 million VND, and just after finishing the construction, he died due to a gas explosion in Laos.

Also this afternoon, the body of the victim Phuong was also brought back to his hometown. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, the uncle of the victim Nguyen Van Phuong in Hamlet 8, Thanh Thinh Commune (Thanh Chuong), "At 11:00 a.m. on July 29, the construction site held a funeral for 6 victims who died at the Nam Nghiep 1 hydropower plant in Bolikhamxay province (Laos).

Then each coffin was loaded onto a car, and they departed for Vietnam together. At around 4 p.m., they arrived at the Vietnam-Laos border gate. Here, the car that finished the procedures first went first, each car following a separate route to take the victims to their localities."

In Thanh Chuong district alone, by 7:00 p.m. this afternoon, the victims' bodies had reached their families.

Previously, in the evening, an explosion occurred at a hydroelectric plant project in Bolikhamxay province (Laos), killing 6 people, including: Tran Van Sang (born in 1989, residing in Thanh Khe commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An); Nguyen Van Phuong (born in 1991, residing in Thanh Thinh commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An); Ha Cao Ky (born in 1991, residing in Thanh Tung commune, Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An); Gia Ba Lau (born in 1985, residing in Hop Thanh village, Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district, Nghe An); Xai Co (born in 1983, residing in Muong Long commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An); Ha Huu Hai (born in 1992, residing in Doan Hung district, Phu Tho).
