Found the body of the second victim swept away by the water while crossing the stream with a group of women

On the morning of July 21, search forces and family members found the body of Ms. D.TH - the second victim swept away by the floodwaters while holding hands with a group of women (all residing in Phuc Son commune, Anh Son) crossing the stream.

The victim's body was found in Chau Tam area, the edge of Giang river in Veu 4 village, Phuc Son commune, about 5km from the incident.

Previously, as reported, on the afternoon of July 19, 12 women residing in Phuc Son commune went into the forest to plant acacia and cajuput trees for hire for a local resident.

At around 5:30 p.m., when they returned, they discovered that the water level in Veu stream had risen due to heavy rain. Seeing this, the group decided to hold hands in groups to cross the stream.

However, two people in the group behind were swept away by the water. The victims were Ms. HTL (born in 1978) and Ms. D.TH (born in 1990), both residing in Veu 2 village, Phuc Son commune, Anh Son district.

Immediately after the incident, Phuc Son Border Guard Station, Nghe An Border Guard urgently sent forces to coordinate with local authorities, functional forces and families to search for the victim.

By noon on July 20, the search team found Ms. HTL's body about 1km from the accident site and by the morning of July 21, the body of the remaining victim, Ms. D.TH, was found.

Currently, the forces, local authorities and family have brought the victim's body back for burial according to local customs.
