Horrific explosion at London subway station through eyewitness accounts

Many witnesses could not hide their panic after an explosion occurred at a London Underground station, injuring a number of passengers.

Reuters quoted a passenger as saying: “I was sitting in a carriage near the back of the train when I heard screaming. I looked up and saw the entire carriage in front of me was on fire, the flames were coming towards me.

Many people were trampled to escape. Their phones, wallets, bags were scattered on the floor of the train cars. Many people were screaming in the chaos. Some people were injured.

Meanwhile, another witness shared: “I have never witnessed such a terrifying scene. It was like something out of a disaster movie. There was a loud bang that lasted for 10 seconds and I had no idea what was happening.

I ran past many carriages towards the explosion and a woman said to me: “You don’t want to go there”. I saw a boy with scratches on his face crying. A woman was injured. Many people ran away in panic.”

Another witness said: “I saw a lot of people running in the opposite direction. We were held at the station for about 30 minutes. It was very chaotic, with police and sniffer dogs everywhere.

Outside the station, a woman sat on the sidewalk. Her leg was injured and bandaged. A nearby witness said the woman was taken out on a stretcher.

Another witness said that a bomb disposal unit was at the scene while the fire department sent six vehicles and 50 firefighters to prevent the possibility of a fire breaking out. Disaster response forces also joined the above units.

“I just opened the office door and saw special forces vehicles everywhere. Armed police blocked all the roads and kept urging panicking people to quickly find a safe place,” said a witness.

Meanwhile, London Police shared on Twitter: “We are aware of reports of an explosion at Parsons Green station. Police are at the scene. We advise people to avoid the station area.”./.
