“We still remind each other that when incumbent officials retire, they need to carefully study the regulations to avoid violating such unnecessary things.”

That was the sharing of Minister - Head of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen in response to the press's question about the case of former Minister of Transport Ho Nghia Dung, when after resigning, Mr. Dung joined the board of directors of a transport enterprise, specifically Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company.

Bộ trưởng Nguyễn Văn Nên:

Minister Nguyen Van Nen said that after the press reported the incident, the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company seriously considered the incident and quickly admitted their mistake due to not fully understanding Decree 102 regulating civil servants after they quit their jobs, so they invited Mr. Ho Nghia Dung to participate in the company's work.

"They have resolved this issue themselves, so they do not want to mention it again. Moreover, this matter is not under the Government's management, so the Government does not discuss it. However, we also remind each other that this is a common lesson for current officials when they retire, they need to carefully study the regulations for themselves so as not to get entangled in or violate such unnecessary things," said Minister Nen.

Also at the press conference, answering the question about the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway having many cracks after it was opened to traffic, Minister Nguyen Van Nen said that the press as well as public opinion need to understand the nature of the problem, first of all the truth of this crack.

The Minister said that according to the report of the Ministry of Transport and relevant agencies, this crack was discovered during the final preparations for the opening of traffic, not discovered a few days after the opening of traffic as some newspapers reported.

Currently, the main contractor is urgently carrying out its work. The governing body, the Ministry of Transport, and its affiliated units responsible for supervising and inspecting the stages are also urgently assessing, re-examining, and finding out the cause, only then will the announcement be accurate.

Second, when we raise the issue, we should have a limit to what it is. Is it irresponsible, superficial, negative or something. We will discover that after investigation. But for now, the governing body has discovered this, already knows this.

At the Government meeting, the Minister of Transport said that he had proactively invited a number of journalists to come directly, see with their own eyes, hear with their own ears and know what the Ministry of Transport is directing to do in the near future.

“When an incident occurs, if we share it promptly and provide information for people to understand, then the incident may be different. The Prime Minister has directed that if what the press says is incomplete or inaccurate, then the person providing the information and the agency responsible for providing the information are partly responsible,” said Minister Nen.
