This was the response of Minister and Head of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen to a journalist's question about the case of former Minister of Transport Ho Nghia Dung, who, after resigning, joined the board of directors of a transport sector enterprise, specifically Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company.

Minister Nguyen Van Nen stated that, following media coverage, the Board of Directors of Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company seriously considered the matter and quickly acknowledged their mistake due to not fully understanding Decree 102 regulating the conduct of civil servants after their resignation, and therefore invited Mr. Ho Nghia Dung to participate in the company's work.

"They resolved this issue themselves, so we don't want to bring it up again. Moreover, this matter is not under the government's jurisdiction, so the government won't discuss it. However, we remind each other that this is a common lesson for current officials: when they retire, they need to carefully study the regulations that apply to them to avoid unnecessary violations like this," Minister Nên said.

Also at the press conference, in response to a question about the cracks appearing in many places on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway shortly after its opening, Minister Nguyen Van Nen stated that the press and the public need to understand the nature of the problem, first and foremost the truth about these cracks.

The Minister stated that, according to reports from the Ministry of Transport and other relevant agencies, the crack was discovered during the final preparations for the road opening, not several days after the road opened as some newspapers reported.

Currently, the main contractor is diligently carrying out its work. Meanwhile, the governing body, the Ministry of Transport, and its affiliated units responsible for supervising and inspecting the process are also diligently reviewing and re-examining the stages to determine the exact cause before making an accurate announcement.

Secondly, when raising the issue, we should have a clear understanding of what it is. Is it irresponsibility, superficiality, negativity, or something else? We will discover the truth after an investigation. But for now, the relevant authority has discovered and is aware of this.

At the government meeting, the Minister of Transport said that he had proactively invited a number of journalists to come and see firsthand what the Ministry of Transport was directing to do in the near future.

"When an event occurs, if we share information promptly and provide it so that the public understands, the situation could have turned out differently. The Prime Minister has instructed that if what the press reports is incomplete or inaccurate, the information provider and the agency responsible for providing the information also bear some responsibility," Minister Nên said.
