Just launched, Honda HR-V is in the top 5 best-selling cars

In February, the small SUV model that is expected to soon arrive in Vietnam, Honda HR-V, continued to impress when it entered the top 5 best-selling models in the Indonesian market. Toyota Avanza is still the champion in the archipelago country.

According to recently released statistics, new car sales in February in Indonesia unexpectedly dropped by 21% to 88,738 units, resulting in cumulative sales in the first two months of the year dropping by 14% to 185,456 units.

Similar to Innova in Vietnam, Toyota Avanza MPV continues to have no rivals in Indonesia, with leading sales of 12,113 units in February and 24,524 units in the first two months of the year. Commercial vehicles were less affected by the overall market decline, with Daihatsu Gran Max Pikap truck maintaining the second position with more than 12,000 units in the past two months, up 2 places compared to the same period; Suzuki Carry Pikap also rose 2 places to 4th position with more than 9,400 units.

Honda HR-V has impressive sales

Most notable in the Indonesian auto market last February was the Honda HR-V's excellent entry into the top 5 best-selling cars with 3,885 units sold, although in the two months, this small SUV model was still modestly ranked 16th with nearly 5,400 units.

Other notable models last month included the Nissan X-Trail, down to 14th place with nearly 1,700 units sold, and the Honda CR-V, back in the top 20 with nearly 1,400 units sold. Unlike its permanent top 5 position in Vietnam, the Toyota Fortuner sold quite slowly in Indonesia, with only nearly 1,000 units sold last month and a total of more than 2,100 units in the first two months of the year, outside the top 20 best-selling cars.
