Chieng Ngam festival
The streets of Chau Tien commune were bustling. More than 20 tents were built in the style of stilt houses, each room was brightly colored with brocade. The outdoor stage on the night of the 20th was packed with people enjoying nearly 50 performances singing about the Muong, about the village, praising the homeland... from 12 communes and towns.and agencies, units, departments and branches in the district and neighboring district of Que Phong.

In the solemn and respectful atmosphere, the gongs and drums played melodiously and heroically, blending with the source. The gongs and drums called for the crops to flourish, calling the people of Muong Ngam to joyfully celebrate the construction of their homeland. This year's festival included foreign guests: Belgian Ambassador Philippe Jottard (Multi-sector rural development project of Quy Chau district) and some from Thanh Hoa, Hoa Binh, Lao Cai provinces and neighboring districts of Nam Dan, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Anh Son, Ky Son, Que Phong..., further enhancing the warm atmosphere and strengthening the solidarity between the lowlands and the highlands.
The ceremony ends when the festival begins. After the opening drum beat, the sound of drums and gongs from the camps resounds. Ms. Lang Thi Mo in Chau Hoi commune confided: "This moment, this echo, our people have been waiting for a long time. Coming here, we not only enjoy the festival but also expand our exchanges, satisfy our spiritual needs....". The first day was filled with exciting activities of the Folk Culture Competition - cuisine, sports, brocade weaving, and cultural exchange of drinking rice wine.
On the night of 21 (AL), the crowd of people flocked to Hang Bua very crowded. After the "Playing and Singing" contest was the 2007 Hang Bua Beauty contest. 25 contestants from Muong Chieng Ngam land selected contestant Tran Thi Van (Chau Binh commune) - a good Math student from class 12A - Quy Chau Boarding School and two second prize beauties Nguyen Thi Thuong (Chau Binh) and Lang Thi Thu Hien (Chau Tien).
Muong Chieng Ngam, this year's festival season, left many beautiful images in the hearts of tourists. At night, from the top of Bu Bai slope looking down at the mountain town, the long stream of cars shimmered like a bright electric current in the middle of the mountains...
