Vung Chua is solemn on the first anniversary of General Vo Nguyen Giap's death.
On the morning of September 21, at Vung Chua - Yen Island, family and relatives together with the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province offered incense and held a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the death of General Vo Nguyen Giap (August 28, 2013 - August 28, 2014 lunar calendar).
From early morning, Colonel Nguyen Van Phuc, Commander of the Border Guard Command of Quang Binh province, led the delegation to Vung Chua - Yen Island in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district (Quang Binh) to offer incense at the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap to commemorate the first anniversary of his death, and lit incense sticks with all his respect.

Also this morning, the family and relatives of General Vo Nguyen Giap held a ceremony to mark the first anniversary of his death. A solemn and quiet atmosphere enveloped Vung Chua - Yen Island where General Vo Nguyen Giap, the eldest brother of the Vietnam People's Army, rests in peace.
The General's family held a memorial service on the first anniversary of his death.
At the ceremony to commemorate the first anniversary of his death, on behalf of the family, Mr. Vo Dien Bien, the eldest son of General Vo Nguyen Giap, expressed his gratitude to the Party Committee, people and armed forces of Quang Binh province for creating all conditions to help ensure the absolute safety of the General's resting place.

In order for the ceremony to be held solemnly, the family has respectfully announced that they will temporarily suspend visiting the tomb on the morning of September 21. After 12 noon on the same day, the General's tomb will be reopened to visitors as usual.
