"Youth meter garden" in Lien Hong

To "connect" all the youth union members in the branch together, to bring the youth union movement forward steadily, after many nights of thinking, Mr. Ngan Van Tam - Secretary of the Lien Hong Youth Union, Cam Lam Commune (Con Cuong) proposed to the Executive Committee of the branch and advised the Party Committee of the branch, the Village Management Board on the model of receiving and taking care of the "Youth Meter Garden" in the village.

After careful discussion and receiving support and high consensus from the Executive Committee, he discussed with the Party cell committee and the Village Management Board to register for implementation. Lien Hong Youth Union has 75 youth union members, 100% of whom are Thai ethnic people. Tam discussed with the Executive Committee to divide into groups that will take turns performing tasks: inspecting, repairing fences, clearing land to take care of the garden...

At first, the branch encountered many difficulties, but with the strength of youth and the solidarity of all the members in the branch, the model of receiving and caring for children has stabilized and brought about results.

With the fund collected from selling meters of nearly 11 million VND each year, the activities of the Youth Union are maintained regularly. Especially through the activities, the members of the Youth Union become closer and understand each other better, the atmosphere of the Youth Union is also more exciting. With this amount of money, in addition to spending on activities, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union reserves a part to organize extracurricular activities, exchange and learning activities for youth union members and help poor and disadvantaged youth union members; organize activities to give gifts to families with preferential policies, poor students who overcome difficulties to celebrate the major holidays of the homeland and the country.

In addition to the model and activities of receiving and taking care of the "Youth Garden" which were enthusiastically responded to by the Youth Union members, the Executive Committee of the Youth Union branch also boldly launched many new emulation movements such as: Joining the "Youth Volunteer" group, the "Youth Self-Management" group to coordinate with the security force in guarding to preserve common property. The Youth Union branch also regularly advises the Party Committee and the village government, mobilizing the Youth Union members to undertake projects and youth work, contributing to the implementation of the political tasks of the village and raising funds for the Youth Union branch's activities.

With the results achieved, for many consecutive years, Lien Hong Youth Union has been recognized and commended by the higher-level Youth Union as a youth union that has excellently completed its tasks in the Youth Union and youth movement activities for many consecutive years. The achievements from the model as well as the activities of the youth union are being deployed by the Youth Union organizations in the district and mobilizing other youth unions to volunteer to implement.

Coming to Lien Hong today, we see the village roads are clean and beautiful, the village has many new tiled houses. Today, Lien Hong youths are no longer drunk or gamblers, everyone is focused on their work, security and order are guaranteed.
