Chau Tien Commune (Quy Chau): Striving to accelerate growth rate

(Baonghean) - Over the past year, with the direction of the local Party Committee and government and the efforts of the people, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau) has gradually exploited its potential and advantages, achieved many important results in many fields; people's lives have been constantly improved.

Up to now, the average annual economic growth rate of the commune has reached 13.8%. Of which: Total production value (2010 fixed price): 61.2 billion VND. Total cultivated area: 638 hectares, reaching 97.3% of the yearly plan, compared to the same period reaching 108%. Total food output: 3,218.7 tons, reaching 108.1% of the yearly plan, compared to the same period reaching 109.9%... Average income per capita reached approximately 12 million VND/year.

The commune has directed the restructuring of crops and livestock towards more effective commodity production; has built and replicated many production models with high economic value such as: Quy duck model in Hong Tien 2 village and Bua Lau village integrated with the New Rural Program supporting 74 participating households; Mong Cai sow and local black pig breeding model in Hanh Tien, Hoa Tien 1 and Hoa Tien 2 villages under Program 135 supporting 80 participating households. The large-scale 2-crop field model for Hoa Tien 2 village according to Decision No. 02/2013/QD-UBND of the province with 56 participating households brings high productivity, reaching a total output of 65 quintals/ha, which has been well received by the people and is being maintained well. The model of raising fish in cages on the river in Hanh Tien, Hoa Tien 2, Ban and Hoa Tien 1 villages with 15 cages brings an income of 5 - 8 million VND/cage and is being replicated. The incense root model in Hoa Tien 2 village with 31 participating households has so far expanded to 3 hectares; this year it will continue to expand to 4 more hectares.

Disease prevention for livestock and poultry is regularly paid attention to by the commune; up to now, the total livestock herd is 3,022, reaching 81.5% of the yearly plan, 100.2% over the same period; the total poultry herd is 21,487, reaching 71.6% of the yearly plan, 131% over the same period.

The movement to build new rural areas has been positively responded by the people. In the construction of rural roads, by the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014, the second phase has settled 3,563m, with 450 tons of cement received. The third phase is underway, with 360 tons of cement received, an additional 2,409m of roads will be completed. The people have mobilized to expand and upgrade all intra-field roads, creating favorable conditions for the use of machinery in production and harvesting crops.

The cultural and social fields have received investment and attention. The quality of education has been increasingly improved. In the 2013-2014 school year, the whole commune had 26 excellent teachers and 173 excellent students at all levels. Propaganda and mobilization work on health care for the people and environmental sanitation work has been regularly focused on. Vitamin drinking, vaccination, expanded immunization campaigns have been well and promptly implemented, achieving 100% of the annual plan. Sports, cultural and artistic movements have developed strongly, becoming widespread mass movements in the area. Social policy work, gratitude, helping people with meritorious services and families in difficult circumstances have been regularly paid attention to. During the year, 244 cases of meritorious services have been cared for. New health insurance cards have been issued to 4,132 cases in 8 particularly difficult villages, and 130 health insurance cards have been issued to children under 6 years old. Along with that, directing people to borrow capital from the Policy Bank for production, livestock breeding, student loans and loans for labor export effectively.

Building rural roads in Chau Tien

Local defense and military work is always given importance. Strictly maintaining the command and combat readiness regime, the examination and recruitment work and military assignment in early 2014 achieved 100% of the district's assigned targets. Along with that, the work of receiving people, resolving complaints and denunciations in accordance with regulations was well implemented. Thanks to that, the political security situation - social order and safety in the commune in recent years has been consolidated and maintained.

With the goal of strengthening the leadership of the Party, the administration of the government, uniting the people, promoting internal strength, taking advantage of the help, support and investment of superiors, Chau Tien commune strives in 2015 to become a new rural commune, with improved economic - cultural, social, scientific - technical life and ecological environment, increasingly better meeting the common development needs; improving the material and spiritual life of the people. Comrade Tran Van Hoang, Chairman of Chau Tien Commune People's Committee, said: The commune strives to increase the total production value to 77,055 million VND.
