Dien Ngoc Commune (Dien Chau) launched a maritime militia platoon
(Baonghean) -On the morning of August 4, Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau) held a ceremony to launch the maritime militia platoon - a unit directed by the Military Region 4 Command to build a point according to the project of the Ministry of National Defense. Attending the ceremony was Major General Vu Van Tung - Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 4.
The maritime militia platoon was mobilized with 28 soldiers, mainly fishermen working in seafood production and exploitation on offshore fishing boats of Dien Ngoc commune. The entire platoon was organized into 3 squads and mobilized means including 3 ships with a capacity of over 120CV, operating under the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces. The maritime militia force was equipped with knowledge of local military defense, playing a core role in maintaining social order and safety in the locality, especially security of the sea route, associated with the tasks of flood and storm prevention, search and rescue at sea, and protecting sovereignty and security of the sea and islands.

Currently, Dien Chau has 2 sea militia platoons in 2 communes Dien Ngoc and Dien Bich and 7 squads in 7 coastal communes with a total of nearly 100 soldiers. The consolidation of the sea militia platoons aims to raise awareness of Vietnam's sea and island strategy, promote the development of the marine economy associated with ensuring national defense and security at sea, contributing to maintaining the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
