Comrade Ho Thi Tam, Secretary of the Dien Thanh Commune Party Committee, excitedly said: In the past term, the Commune Party Committee has focused on innovation, improving leadership capacity, focusing on investment, building projects, and planning land areas for comprehensive economic development... The commune set the goal of "Maximizing all available potential resources for development investment, accelerating growth, shifting economic structure towards services - tourism, small-scale industry and agriculture, forestry and fishery. Developing the economy in combination with national defense - security, taking care of hunger eradication and poverty reduction to enrich legitimately, and solving pressing social issues well. Building the Party, government and political system increasingly strong, making Dien Thanh one of the communes with the highest economic growth rate in Dien Chau district, the Party Committee achieving the title of "Strong Party".

Political and ideological education for cadres is given top priority, contributing to raising awareness, strengthening the confidence of cadres and people in the will to act, being enthusiastic and active in production, business and services, and practicing thrift. To consolidate human resources, in the last term, the Commune Party Committee carried out a step of planning, training, and improving the professional capacity of the current cadres and source cadres. Up to now, the cadres have been basically stable, truly assured in their work, the majority have performed well, and completed assigned tasks. During the term, 49 new party members were admitted. The Party cell achieved an average of 80% of the annual strong party members, and the Party Committee achieved the strong party members for 4 years.

Promoting the existing advantages together with the dynamism in the right direction of structural transformation, the economy is stable and has a fairly good growth, production and business develop, especially in trade services. Total production value: At the beginning of the term in 2010, it reached 136,886 million VND, expected in 2015 to be 388,958 million VND, reaching the Congress target. Average income per capita in 2014 was 27.2 million VND, estimated in 2015 to be 33.1 million VND, reaching the Congress target. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction: Increasing the proportion of construction industry and services, reducing the proportion of agriculture. The average growth rate is 19.8%, an increase of 2.8% compared to the Congress target, the proportion of agriculture - forestry - fishery is 25.5%, small-scale industry - construction is 21.9%, service sectors are 52.6%, reaching and exceeding the Congress target.

Agricultural production has developed quite comprehensively, with valuable crops and livestock increasing thanks to the application of scientific and technological advances in production. Timely seed supply services for farmers, training on new seedlings and varieties, and effective application of scientific and technological advances to the people, especially watermelon and some other vegetables and fruits. In particular, in the past term, many production association models have been formed, focusing on watermelon in hamlets 4 and 6, high-quality vegetables in hamlets 10 and 11... Implementing land consolidation according to Directive 08 of the Provincial Party Committee, in the past term, 10/11 hamlets have completed internal traffic and land allocation. It is noteworthy that the hamlets that have completed the initial conversion have formed many highly effective agricultural production models.

The exploitation, farming and processing of aquatic and seafood products are also focused on by the Party Committee of the commune. Currently, the whole commune has 17 ships and 60 rafts with a capacity of 20 CV or more, with an average annual exploitation output of 500 tons, reaching 82% of the Congress's target. Small-scale industry and services are increasingly diversified, especially after the new Phu Dien market was put into operation. The production value of small-scale industry, services and other revenues at the beginning of the term reached 95,618 million VND, expected to be 268,541 million VND in 2015, meeting the Congress's target. Thanks to that, the poverty rate decreased from 9% at the beginning of the term to below 3% in 2015, exceeding the Congress's target.

When the economy is stable, the cultural and social fields also have conditions to develop. In the past term, the Party Executive Committee of the commune has issued a specialized resolution on comprehensive education development, effectively implemented the socialization of education, invested in facilities and equipment to meet increasingly better teaching and learning needs; directed the implementation of the universal education program at all levels. Thanks to that, the quality of teaching and learning in schools has been improved: The average annual rate of junior high school graduates is 97%; 537 students have passed the entrance exam to universities and colleges in the past 5 years, 428 students have entered public schools; all 3 schools have met national standards. In particular, the primary school that met national standards in phase 2 and 3 schools have been recognized as cultural units at the district level. The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has been promoted. In which, the focus is on building cultural families, villages, cultural units... to improve quality. The rate of cultural families in 2014 reached 82%, and it is expected that in 2015, there will be 83% of cultural families. Health care, social security, and policies for people with meritorious services are well implemented; state management in the fields of security and order is strengthened and maintained...

Implementing the campaign for the whole people to join hands to build new rural areas, the mark of the past term was the organization of investment projects using budget capital and support from all levels, people's contributions to build rural roads, hamlet cultural houses... (people contributed nearly 6 billion VND for more than 100 roads, concrete and asphalt roads in hamlets with a total length of 15.8 km). In addition, a number of infrastructure projects for coastal tourism areas, sea dykes, and Lach Van dykes were invested in and upgraded synchronously from the higher budget and infrastructure investment projects in tourist areas, hotels, restaurants, and private service businesses. By the end of 2014, the commune achieved 18/19 national criteria for new rural areas.

In the 2015 - 2020 term, the Party Committee, government and all people of Dien Thanh commune determined to continue transforming the economic model towards developing a commodity economy, improving the quality of labor; effectively implementing the Resolution of the Party Congresses at all levels in conjunction with the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction, improving people's lives, maintaining security and order at the grassroots level; building a strong political system, and achieving clean and strong Party Committee every year. Striving for an average income per capita of about 45 - 47 million VND by 2020; the area of ​​high-income crops of 150 hectares with high income from 200 million VND/ha or more; the average budget revenue in the area (excluding land use right grant money) increased by 16 - 17% in 5 years; the rate of cultural families is 83% or more, sports families are 30 - 35%; Build 3-4 cultural units, clans, and villages; maintain universal primary education for the right age, firmly universalize secondary education, build national standard kindergartens in phase 2; reduce the poverty rate to 2% by 2020... Strive for the commune to meet new rural standards in 2015.
