Minh Hop Commune (Quy Hop): Receiving the certificate of achieving new rural cultural standards
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 24, Minh Hop commune, Quy Hop district held a ceremony to receive the commune meeting the new rural cultural standards in 2016 and opened the 4th Commune Sports Festival in 2017.
Minh Hop commune has a natural land area of over 6,000 hectares with 2,741 households, over 10,160 people, Tho ethnic group accounts for 12.6%. The majority of people are retired workers and orange growers for high income. Average income per capita in 2016 reached over 30 million VND/year. The poverty rate is only 4% according to new criteria. The whole commune has hundreds of orange growing models with income from 500 to 1.5 billion VND per year.
In 1999, the whole commune had only 2 cultural hamlets, but by the end of 2016, the number of cultural hamlets had increased to 20/21 hamlets. The rate of cultural families annually reaches 85% or more. The commune has 5/5 schools meeting national standards, and one teacher has been awarded the title of excellent teacher.

In recent years, along with the investment of the state, the people have donated tens of billions of dong to build cultural houses and purchase festive ceremonies. There are 10 hamlets with an area for cultural and sports facilities of over 4,000m2. With the achieved results, Minh Hop is one of the first 5 communes of Quy Hop district to achieve the new rural commune standard recognized by the Provincial People's Committee.
