Nam Son Commune (Quy Hop): Continue to successfully implement the goals

(Baonghean) - With a high spirit of solidarity and overcoming difficulties, over the past 5 years, under the leadership of the Party Committee, the management and operation of the government, the coordination of the activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations, and the efforts of all classes of people, Nam Son commune (Quy Hop) has had a fairly good economic growth, infrastructure has been invested in and built; the movement to build cultural life and build new rural areas has changed significantly; national defense has been consolidated, political security and social order and safety have been maintained; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved, with an average income per capita of 10,882 million VND/year...

Up to now, the total value of intra-communal production has reached 16.2898 billion VND. Value of services and trade: 478.8 million VND. Value of agriculture and forestry: 15.184 billion VND. Value of basic construction: 627 million VND. Total output of grain crops: 954.8 tons... These results are thanks to the increased application of science and technology in intensive farming to increase productivity. Raising large livestock and poultry has developed quite well, bringing high economic efficiency; up to now, the whole commune has 609 buffaloes, 392 cows, and 9,411 poultry. In the past 5 years, the commune has launched a campaign for the whole population to plant forests, green bare land and bare hills; In 2014, 197.5 hectares were newly planted, an increase of 92.3 hectares compared to 2010. At the same time, the existing forest area in the area was well protected, basically limiting illegal exploitation and transportation of forest products. There was no more slash-and-burn farming or charcoal burning; forest coverage reached 85%, an increase of 6.8% compared to 2010, reaching 100% compared to the resolution.

After nearly 4 years of implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, Nam Son commune has mobilized resources from the people, completed the commune People's Committee headquarters, concretized 300m of rural roads, yards of 2 community houses, 500m of canals; total value of basic construction: 875,600,000 VND, of which people contributed 316 million VND and hundreds of working days.

Education and training work has been significantly improved, school and classroom facilities meet the needs of teaching and learning. Every year, 100% of school-age students are mobilized to attend preschool, primary and secondary schools, the average annual graduation rate of all levels is: Primary school is 100% compared to the target set in the Resolution; Secondary school is 97.9% compared to the target set in the Resolution; the number of dropouts has been reduced, and every year schools are rated good or better. Basic investment has been made in medical examination and treatment facilities and equipment; Population communication and family planning have been promoted and widely disseminated, people are more aware, so the number of births of the third child or more has been limited, the natural population growth rate in 2014 decreased to 0.96%, reaching 104% compared to the congress resolution, malnourished children have decreased over the years (in 2014 the rate of malnourished children was 13.7%, down 8.6% compared to 2010). The movement "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", especially the movement to build cultural families and villages, has developed widely, attracting all people to participate, up to now there are 6/6 cultural villages, 228 cultural families.

Social policies for people with revolutionary contributions, families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers are taken care of. The payment of salaries and allowances to these subjects is guaranteed to be adequate and timely. The poverty reduction program has been implemented effectively. Over the past 5 years, the government has supported the elimination of 8 dilapidated and makeshift houses for poor households, subsidized 90 tons of rice and many livestock to help poor and near-poor households and families with preferential policies, contributing to improving and raising their living standards.

The results of the past term are an important premise, creating new momentum and strength for the Party Committee and people of Nam Son commune to continue to successfully implement the goals set out in the Resolution of the Party Congress of the commune for the 2015 - 2020 term; specifically: Total production value within the commune reached: 23.7 billion VND, up 6.5%, of which: value of agriculture - forestry: 21.56568 billion VND, up 6.2%, basic construction: 1.34 billion VND, up 13.5%, services - trade: 794.32 million VND, up 7.5%; total output of grain crops: 1,250.5 tons, up 4.6%... Average income per capita by 2020: 15,700,000 VND/year, an average annual increase of 6.3%. Regarding social culture: Mobilize 100% of children to go to school, students pass graduation exams at all levels, including: 100% primary school, 98.5% secondary school, 90% high school. Strive to have no cases of having a third child or more, reduce the rate of malnourished children to 8%; by 2020, reduce poor households to 15.6%; 100% of people have access to clean water...
