(Baonghean) - As a locality with a low starting point in Nghi Loc district, during the past term, the Party Committee and people of Nghi Tien commune have made efforts to overcome difficulties, find solutions to promote the advantages of coastal areas, promote economic restructuring, and gradually improve people's lives.

Over the past 5 years, Nghi Tien's economy has continued to grow well, with the economic structure shifting in the right direction. The average economic growth rate in the 2010 - 2015 period reached 8.0%; the total production value in 2015 (2010 comparable prices) is estimated at 96,455 billion VND; the average income per capita is estimated at 31 million VND/year.

In the agricultural sector, the commune focused on directing the introduction of hybrid rice and peanuts into production in the winter-spring crop, summer-autumn crop and hybrid corn into production on fertile and semi-fertile soil; the total food output in 2015 was estimated at 1,650 tons; building 5 more livestock farms to bring high economic efficiency. Fishing and aquaculture activities developed. The output of seafood exploitation in 2015 was estimated at 150 tons; maintaining the brackish water shrimp farming area of ​​2 hectares with an output of 30 tons; freshwater fish farming 38.5 hectares, with an output of 40 tons of various aquatic products... The commune also protected and took good care of 348 hectares of protective forest, ensuring 50% coverage; and effectively implemented forest fire prevention and control.

In the industrial and handicraft sectors, the average growth rate reached 14.1%. Total capital mobilized in 5 years for construction investment is estimated at over 17 billion VND (of which people contributed over 2.8 billion VND); construction of 3.5 km of concrete road, Tien Thiet Secondary School, commune office, construction of new medical station, upgrading Chua market, construction of Khe Nuoc dam... Trade and services developed, the average growth rate reached 12.2%. Gradually connecting with Bai Lu and Cua Hien tourist areas to serve beach tourists in the summer.

Cultural, information and sports activities have been promoted. Up to now, 7 hamlets and 3 units have been recognized as cultural titles, the rate of cultural families is over 82.5%. Due to the difficult terrain, Nghi Tien is a locality with a low starting point in education and training, but up to now, the rate of mobilizing students by age for all 3 education systems has met the planned target; the rate of universalization in preschool, primary and secondary school age is 100%; preschools and primary schools are recognized as national standard schools at level I. Health care, population - family planning and children are taken care of and have many changes.

Well implementing national target programs on health, building to meet the criteria of national standard communes on health in phase II, the quality of medical examination and treatment has been improved. The commune has built and well implemented the Project to improve the quality of population and family planning activities, Project 52 of the Government on population control in coastal and sea areas; the work of job creation, hunger eradication and poverty reduction has been directed with attention; continuing to well implement the labor export project, the whole commune currently has 465 exported workers, generating revenue from 55 to 60 billion VND. Effectively using loans to solve jobs, hunger eradication and poverty reduction; the poor household rate has decreased from 14.2% in 2010 to 6.5% in 2015...

The Party Committee regularly pays attention to political and ideological education; organizes the study and dissemination of the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels, directives and resolutions of higher-level Party committees in a timely manner, and develops implementation plans that are close to the local situation. Effectively implement Resolution 4 of the Central Committee and Directive 03 of the Politburo on continuing to promote "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh". Thereby, promptly raising awareness of serving the people, preventing moral and lifestyle degradation of cadres and Party members.
