Nghe An Newspaper on December 20 and 24, 2014, in the Hotline Information section, reported the following content: On National Highway 48, the section over Dinh Bridge (old) in Nghia Xuan Commune has long been turned into a garbage dump. Every afternoon, garbage from Dinh Market area is brought here by market staff and surrounding residents to be dumped without awareness, causing river blockage and environmental pollution.

On December 30, 2014, Nghia Xuan Commune (Quy Hop) issued Official Dispatch No. 507/UBND to handle the issue of the newspaper stating the following content:

Nghia Xuan Commune is the gateway commune of Quy Hop District, located on National Highway 48 with a length of 6 km. There is a sugar factory in the area. It is a central commune for trade and services, so the amount of daily waste is very large.

In recent years, thanks to good measures in waste management and collection such as: encouraging each household to dig a garbage pit for self-treatment at home, investing funds to build family garbage pits, classifying waste for burial and treatment at temporary garbage pits, assigning a person to be on duty regularly to detect and handle violations of illegal dumping of garbage in the wrong place..., the amount of concentrated waste has been limited and reduced.

However, recently, some individuals passing through this route have taken advantage of the dark and deserted conditions to dump garbage indiscriminately and without awareness in the area of Dinh Bridge (old), causing loss of aesthetics and affecting the environment.

After receiving feedback from the people, the Commune People's Committee invested funds to carry out waste treatment such as: hiring a machine to dig a hole to bury part of the hard-to-destroy waste, using oil to burn some types of flammable waste, spraying disinfectants, placing signs prohibiting dumping, and hiring a person to be on duty to detect and handle violations...

Currently, the entire volume of garbage in the Dinh bridge area (old) has been neatly collected into landfills and treated to ensure environmental protection.

Above is the content of the response to the issue raised by Nghe An newspaper.
