Horrific shooting in Canada leaves eight people dead

AFP news agency on December 30 quoted Canadian police sources as saying that a man shot dead eight people and then committed suicide.

The incidents took place at three different locations in Edmonton, in the western province of Alberta.

Edmonton Police Chief Rod Knecht said the bodies of seven victims, including three women, two men and two children, were found in the same house. The eighth victim was a woman.

In another incident the same day, a two-year-old boy in the US accidentally shot and killed his mother at a Walmart store after taking a gun out of her handbag.

The heartbreaking incident took place at a store in Hayden, Idaho, where the 29-year-old victim was shopping with her children and other family members./.
