Sacrificing himself to save others, the police chief of Trung Son commune was seriously injured.

(Baonghean.vn) - It has been 2 days since he was discharged from the hospital, but Mr. Le Xuan Toan - Chief of Police of Trung Son Commune (Do Luong) is still in a state of multiple injuries. The cause of the above incident was because he sacrificed himself to save people in a dispute in the commune.

Mr. Le Xuan Toan talked with reporters after being discharged from the hospital and returning to continue working at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Trung Son commune.

Accordingly, on November 10, the working group of the People's Committee of Trung Son commune, led by Mr. Le Xuan Toan, Chief of the commune police, executed the decision to administratively sanction Mr. Pham Van Ha, residing in Hamlet 3, Trung Son commune, for illegally building and encroaching on a community road.

It is known that this is the common path of Mr. Pham Van Tung and Mr. Pham Van Ha's family. However, in the past 3 years, Mr. Ha has repeatedly illegally built a roadblock to intentionally occupy this area.

Having directly affected his interests, Mr. Pham Van Tung filed a complaint to the People's Committee of Trung Son Commune. After investigating the incident, on October 17, the Commune Police Department issued an administrative violation document requesting Mr. Ha's family to dismantle the structure to restore the common walkway, but Mr. Ha did not comply.

On October 24, the People's Committee of Trung Son commune continued to issue Decision No. 11/QD - UBND dated /2016 on administrative sanctions against Mr. Pham Van Ha for the act of self-barricading a group of households' traffic routes and the fine was 300,000 VND. However, Mr. Ha did not accept the decision and acted in opposition.

Finally, on November 10, the Commune Police Department decided to set up a working group to go directly to the scene to resolve the incident.

At that time, the working group mobilized the two households in dispute, Mr. Pham Van Tung and Mr. Pham Van Ha, to organize the demolition themselves to ensure the common passage was clear. However, during the working process, Mr. Ha did not cooperate and had an insulting attitude towards the working group and Mr. Tung.

After unsuccessfully threatening the working group, Mr. Ha used a cleaver about 40 cm long and 4 cm wide to attack Mr. Tung.

Seeing the situation become critical, Mr. Le Xuan Toan took Mr. Tung out of danger but was slashed in the face by Mr. Ha. Reacting in time, Mr. Toan avoided the direct slash but was still slashed in the forehead, causing the outer plate bone to be chipped and the wound in the muscle to be nearly 7cm long.

Not stopping there, Mr. Ha continued to use a knife to chase Mr. Tung. Although he was injured, Mr. Toan still tried to wrestle the weapon from Mr. Ha's hand and in the process of struggling, Mr. Toan's right arm was broken.

The commune police force then quickly controlled Mr. Ha and took Mr. Toan to the emergency room.

The forensic examination at Nghe An Province Forensic Center concluded that the injury caused at the time of examination was 23%. After a period of treatment, Mr. Toan has been discharged from the hospital and returned to work, but the wounds on his hand and forehead have not yet healed.

The path has now been restored to its original state.

According to local residents, Mr. Ha had a previous conviction for assaulting someone in 2014. Although the community and the government tried to persuade and protest against the act of blocking the path to occupy common land, Mr. Ha still did not accept it.

The case is currently being further investigated by the Do Luong District Police. Accordingly, the Do Luong District Police are proposing an extraordinary reward for the Trung Son Commune Police in general and Mr. Le Xuan Toan in particular./.
