Thanh Dong Commune (Thanh Chuong): Efforts to accelerate development

(Baonghean) - During the 2010 - 2015 term, the Party Committee and people of Thanh Dong commune (Thanh Chuong) took advantage of favorable conditions, focused on the strength of the great national unity bloc, and closely followed the direction and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels, creating positive changes in all fields, with many targets achieved and exceeded the set plan.

The average growth rate for 5 years reached 13.35%, the economic structure shifted in the right direction, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and fishery, gradually increasing the proportion of industry, construction and services. The total production value in 2014 reached 122.6 billion VND; in 2015 it was estimated to reach 128.8 billion VND; the average income in 2015 was estimated to reach 27 million VND/person (at the beginning of the term it was 15.2 million VND); the poverty rate was below 5%, people's lives were improved in all aspects.

During the term, the Party Executive Committee of the commune focused on directing the development of economic development projects, promoting the shift of crop structure, arranging reasonable crop seasons, applying scientific and technological advances, introducing high-yield varieties into production, so the output of grain crops increased, from 2,000 tons in 2010 to 2,228 tons in 2014. The VAC economy, farms, and family farms developed; there were many good production and business models with incomes of 150 - 200 million VND/year or more. Notably, there was a shift from traditional livestock farming to highly effective commercial livestock farming; up to now, the total herd of buffaloes and cows is 1,250, the herd of pigs is 23,000, the herd of poultry is 55,000...

The cultural and social fields have seen remarkable changes. From the implementation of the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life", the activities of building cultural families, villages and cultural units have developed in both breadth and depth. In 2010, the rate of cultural families reached 78%, in 2014 it was 85.5%... The movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" has attracted all ages to participate with the spirit of "each person chooses a suitable sport for themselves". Regarding education and training, the scale and network of schools have developed according to plan, the quality of teaching has been improved with 2 schools reaching national standards level I.

Along with that, cultural, artistic, sports, health, population/family planning activities have made much progress, the material and spiritual life of all classes of people has been increasingly improved. In particular, the movement of joining hands to build new rural areas has received high consensus from the people, actively donating land, dismantling works to build roads, drainage canals. The Steering Committee and Management Board of New Rural Construction have actively and resolutely directed, mobilized the internal strength of the whole people, and taken advantage of the attention and support of superiors to invest in building socio-economic infrastructure works; striving to meet new rural standards in the third quarter of 2015.

Regarding the construction of the political system, the Party Committee of the commune has developed key programs, programs to implement resolutions of higher levels, issued specialized resolutions; assigned each comrade in the Party Committee to be in charge of programs and implementation plans with specific roadmaps and times... Well implemented the principle of democratic centralism in Party activities, enhanced the responsibility of leaders. Promoted democracy well, created high consensus in the activities of the government and organizations. The majority of Party members in the Party Committee have promoted their pioneering and exemplary nature, well implemented the Party Charter, propagated and mobilized people to carry out movements.

From the results of the past term, Thanh Dong Party Committee sets the following goals for the next term: Accelerating the process of transforming the growth model, maintaining extensive development, prioritizing investment resources for key programs. Continuing to develop advantageous fields, industries, and products. Rapidly increasing the proportion of the service - trade and industry - construction sectors, gradually reducing the proportion of the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors. Closely combining economic growth with cultural development, ensuring social security, promoting investment in building synchronous infrastructure, consolidating national defense, ensuring political security, social order and safety.

Implement well the grassroots democracy regulations, maintain political security, social order and safety, prevent complicated incidents, and effectively prevent social evils. Take care of Party building work, improve the leadership capacity of Party organizations. Strengthen discipline, solidarity, unity, and ideological consensus, arouse internal strength, attract external strength, and build Thanh Dong into a well-off commune of the district by 2020, with a synchronous infrastructure system; develop trade and industrial services; advance culture and society; improve people's material and spiritual life; strengthen national defense and security; stabilize politics, social order and safety.

The new rural appearance has appeared in Thanh Dong with a synchronous and spacious infrastructure system. With the spirit of innovation and creativity, based on the foundation of promoting democracy, the Thanh Dong Commune Party Congress for the 2015 - 2020 term is a high concentration of will, aspirations, and internal strength; overcoming difficulties and challenges, continuing to promote the patriotic emulation movement. From there, the right directions are proposed, quickly bringing the locality to develop steadily, to be in the top of the district; in the immediate future, efforts are made to reach the new rural destination in 2015.
