Vo Liet Commune (Thanh Chuong): Caring about people's jobs and income

(Baonghean) - In the past term, the Party Committee and people of Vo Liet commune (Thanh Chuong) took advantage of favorable conditions, focused on the strength of the great national unity bloc, went deep and closely into the direction and administration of Party committees and authorities at all levels, achieving successes in all fields. After 5 years of implementation, there have been positive changes in all fields, many targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan. The average growth rate of 5 years reached 9.95%...

In the economic field, there have been positive changes. In agricultural production, the total output of grain crops in 2015 is estimated at 5,268 tons, an increase of 703.6 tons compared to the beginning of the term; tea trees in 2015 have 94.2 hectares, with an estimated output of 900 tons (an increase of 431 tons); the total herd of buffalo and cows is currently 2,000, the herd of pigs is 6,500, and the herd of poultry is 57,371. Continue to develop models of raising fish in dams and dams, winter fish, and convert low-lying fields and low-efficiency fields to aquaculture, covering 31 hectares, contributing to increasing income per unit area. The VAC economy and farms and ranches have developed, with many good production and business models appearing.

Industrial and construction activities continue to grow, reaching and exceeding the plan set by the congress. Small-scale industries and handicrafts are gradually developing in a diverse and rich way. There are currently 5 unburnt brick production facilities in the area, with a capacity of hundreds of thousands of bricks/year; 1 sand wharf serving construction materials; 2 mechanical workshops repairing agricultural and forestry production machinery; 1 workshop processing various types of corrugated iron; 20 trucks of various types; 15 taxis; 70 multi-function plows; over 20 civil carpentry facilities; 8 civil electrical repair facilities, 11 motorbike repair facilities; 29 households engaged in milling and pounding flour; 30 vermicelli and cake processing facilities. The above industries have created jobs and stable income for hundreds of workers...

The locality has mobilized many resources to build 27 large and small projects with a total cost of 40 billion VND (of which the people contributed 7.4 billion VND, the budgets at all levels 30 billion VND, the commune budget 2.6 billion VND); renovating 1.52 km of asphalt and concrete type A roads, 1.2 km of canals, 2 bridges of all kinds; building and upgrading cultural works such as: Vo Liet Communal House, Bach Ma Temple, Phan Sy Thuc Church, fences, medical station campus, secondary school, THVL1 School; building 3 new transformer stations to meet people's needs, 100% of households use electricity...

Regarding the construction of new rural areas, it has been organized and implemented effectively step by step. Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations have promoted democracy and mobilized people to contribute 150,000 VND per person to receive rice fields to build traffic and irrigation works within the fields; as a result, 237 internal roads have been dug and built, with a total length of 4.4 km and a volume of 118,139 m3, and over 1,749 internal culverts of various types have been installed to serve irrigation, with a total value of internal traffic and irrigation works of over 1,874 million VND; to date, 11/19 NTM criteria have been achieved.

Culture and society have made remarkable progress. Currently, Vo Liet has 6/22 cultural villages and units. Attention is paid to building and consolidating facilities, improving professional skills for health station staff and medical workers. The emulation movement in teaching and learning has been strongly launched from the beginning of the school year; during the term, there were 2 excellent national students, 23 excellent provincial students, 663 excellent district students, 3/4 schools achieved the title of cultural unit, 3/4 school collectives achieved the title of advanced labor collective. The current scholarship fund in the clans is 341 million VND; more than 3,000 excellent students and advanced students at all levels have been awarded. Along with that, cultural, artistic, sports, medical, population/family planning activities have made much progress, the material and spiritual life of all classes of people is increasingly improved.

The Party Committee has also developed key programs, programs to implement resolutions of higher levels, issued specialized resolutions; assigned each comrade in the Party Committee to be in charge of programs and plans of the Party Committee, with specific roadmaps and timelines. The political system has been consolidated and developed, leadership and management capacity has had many positive changes, and the staff has matured in the new mechanism.

Entering the new term 2015 - 2020, Vo Liet Party Committee sets the goal of striving to make the locality become a fairly well-off commune of the district; average annual growth rate of 10-11%; average income/ha of cultivated land by 2020 reaching 120 - 140 million VND; total production value by 2020 is 321,679 billion VND; average income per capita/year from 50 - 55 million VND; annual poverty rate decreases by 3%; strives for the commune to have cultural, information and sports institutions that meet national standards; 100% of Party cells complete their tasks well, of which 75% or more achieve clean and strong status, 15 - 20% of Party cells achieve typical clean and strong status,...

Continue to mobilize local resources to upgrade and expand the transportation system, schools, and medical stations; strive to achieve 2 or more NTM criteria each year. Implement the national program on hunger eradication and poverty reduction well, creating conditions for poor households to develop production and increase income. Direct the development of industrial and handicraft production, coordinate with vocational schools and domestic and foreign job consulting companies to strive to have 120-130 workers exported each year; mobilize skilled workers to work at the Thanh Thuy herbal medicine factory and Thanh Tien garment factory to create jobs for workers.

With the efforts and determination of the Vo Liet Party Committee and people in the new term 2015 - 2020, we believe that the locality will have a breakthrough, develop more and more strongly, and successfully complete the goals set out in the congress resolution of the term.
