American and German geologists have claimed that they have determined the exact date of Jesus' death based on analysis of seismic activity in the Dead Sea region.

Jefferson Williams, of the Supersonic Geophysical organization, along with his German colleagues at the German Geological Research Center, Markus Schwab and Achim Brauer, have claimed that Jesus died by crucifixion with his arms outstretched on the cross on Friday, April 3, 33 BC, Russian news agencyRIANovosti, citing a Polish source from the company.Katolicka Agencja Informacyjna(Christian Information) said.

Scientists compared seismic data in the textNew Testamentwith astronomical observations. The chronological history of earthquakes in the Dead Sea region shows that this area, located 20 kilometers from Jerusalem, had particular seismic activity in 31 BC as well as between 26 and 31 AD.

The second earthquake occurred during the days when Jesus was a prosecutor at Pontius Pilate's Court inJudah. The death of Jesus is also confirmed in the four “Gospel” chapters of the Gospels about the life of Jesus and the writings of the Roman historian Tasitus.

William explained that the “darkness” described in the Gospels after Christ's death was a sandstorm, a phenomenon that rarely occurs in this region.
