Building a socio-economic development strategy for the period 2015 - 2020, vision 2030

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 26, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to accept the task of building the socio-economic development strategy of Nghe An province for the period 2015 - 2020 and vision to 2030. Comrades Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. On the side of the unit in charge of implementing the project, there was Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.

Overview of the working session

According to the report of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences - the unit in charge of the project, the socio-economic development strategy of Nghe An province for the period 2015 - 2020 and vision to 2030 has been organized in many seminars, collecting opinions from representatives of provincial departments, central ministries, branches and retired leaders of the Party and State and experts and researchers of Vietnam.

Accordingly, the project builds 4 pillars of the economy: agriculture; tourism - services; high-tech industry; information technology. Economic zones: coastal areas, delta areas, midlands, mountainous areas. In which, Vinh City is determined to become the economic - cultural - social and financial center of the North Central region according to Decision 52/2015 of the Prime Minister. In addition, the project also identifies the main pillars of development: restructuring and changing the growth model; building appropriate infrastructure; Science - Technology becoming the main pillars and driving force of development; institutional reform. The strategy proposes restructuring and changing the growth model according to both long-term and short-term visions.

Speaking at the meeting, the opposing opinions said that the Project was carefully and clearly researched, with many new and creative arguments and perspectives on development orientation; choosing breakthroughs to create a widespread effect. However, information technology development needs to have a specific orientation in the actual development of information technology in Nghe An; some issues on human resources and social development have not been clearly mentioned. In the economic development zoning, the midland and mountainous regions need to be analyzed and supplemented more specifically...

Speaking at the acceptance ceremony, Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the project; the project was elaborately built, with high intellectual content... In the 4 pillars of the economy, it is proposed to add an urban infrastructure development program; change the conservative and backward thinking and ideology of Nghe An people; propose more issues of planning and developing seaports... The scientific topic is a solution for socio-economic development of Nghe An and has analyzed quite clearly the fields that are the foundation for socio-economic development of the province. The implementation process will have fluctuations and changes, but this is the basis for realizing the goal of building Nghe An province to make a breakthrough and develop sustainably in the future. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked the research team and the acceptance council for helping the province complete this important project.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang - President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences emphasized that the project has been carefully prepared, with a 1-year research process based on local theory and practice, Resolution 26 of the Politburo on Nghe An for construction. The President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences also, on behalf of the project research team, asked to receive comments to complete the topic, and discuss in more depth some issues arising in the socio-economic development of the province.
