Building a safe, self-sufficient, combat-ready base
(Baonghean.vn)- On June 30, the Military Region's Base Construction Steering Committee held a conference to evaluate the results of building strong and comprehensive commune and ward bases, and safe clusters that are self-sufficient and ready for combat in the first 6 months of 2015, and to deploy tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
Major General Nguyen Chi Huong - Deputy Commander of the Military Region, Head of the Steering Committee for Construction of Military Region's Bases chaired the conference.
In the first 6 months of 2015, the work of building safe and combat-ready bases and clusters was actively and proactively implemented by the Military Region's Base Construction Steering Committee, Party committees, authorities, and Base Construction Steering Committees at all levels, with focus and key points. Base types have shown positive changes.

According to the Steering Committee's assessment, more than 80% of establishments, communes and wards have achieved comprehensive strength, safety, mastery, and combat readiness. |
The national defense posture and people's security posture continued to be consolidated, national defense and security were maintained and enhanced; the goal of "Peaceful people, stability and development" continued to be affirmed. Through the review and classification of localities in the first 6 months of the year, the number of communes, wards and towns achieving comprehensive strength reached 82.77%; the number of clusters with good performance reached 97.89%.
The conference also discussed and identified 7 key contents in implementing the task of building a strong, comprehensive, safe, self-governing commune and ward base - ready for combat in the last 6 months of 2015; approved the outline of "Summary report of 25 years of building a strong, comprehensive commune, ward and town base, safe, self-governing clusters - ready for combat (1989 - 2015)".
