Building Cua Lo into a coastal tourist city soon

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 11, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with Cua Lo Town on the implementation of socio-economic and national defense and security tasks in the area.

Attending the meeting were comrade Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, branches and leaders of the Town Party Committee and People's Committee of Cua Lo town.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong and the delegation inspected the construction of the Lan Chau - Song Ngu eco-tourism complex; visited a number of seafood purchasing and processing facilities in Nghi Tan ward. This is a locality with many successes in converting occupations. Up to now, Nghi Tan has 49 cold storages, 62 storage warehouses with an annual flow of over 75 thousand tons of seafood. The operation of the cold storages has actively contributed to job creation, purchasing, post-fishing processing, increasing income for fishermen and workers in the ward.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation also inspected the construction progress of Roads 2 and 3, connecting Nghi Huong, Nghi Thu and Thu Thuy wards. This is a road invested in construction to reduce the load on the main road Binh Minh, at the same time contributing to accelerating socio-economic development in the town.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Cua Lo town, in the first 6 months of 2014, the budget revenue was estimated at 104.7 billion VND, equal to 57.6% of the estimate, up 18.5% over the same period in 2013; of which, revenue from tourism in the first 6 months reached 850 billion VND. Cua Lo town has mobilized many sources of capital for development investment; some areas related to agricultural, forestry and fishery production in Cua Lo town have increased compared to the plan. The fields of basic construction - urban planning, natural resources - environment, finance - planning have been effectively implemented by the town, focusing on the right focus. The fields of culture and society have been well implemented by all levels; the work of justice, inspection, public reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations of the people have been carried out in accordance with principles, strictly complying with the provisions of law, security - national defense and social order and safety have been maintained.

Regarding the results of the review of 4 years of implementing the Resolution of the 4th Town Party Congress, up to now, Cua Lo has 32/44 targets achieved and exceeded compared to the Resolution. The town is gradually completing the criteria for building a tourist city according to Resolution 05-NQ/TU (dated September 26, 2006) of the Provincial Party Committee. After 1 year of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, Cua Lo Town has set out basic targets, aiming to effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the locality and focus resources on the goal of economic development associated with protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

After the comments of the departments and branches, in his concluding remarks at the working session, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged the efforts of the Party committees, authorities and people of Cua Lo town in economic development, promoting tourism and service exploitation, ensuring security and social order. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee, People's Committee, organizations and unions of Cua Lo town to focus better on implementing the goals of the Resolution of the town for the 4th term, creating momentum for the next term; doing a good job in building infrastructure; focusing on exploiting tourism potential by building a service culture, ensuring environmental sanitation. Promoting investment in services, connecting regions, attracting tourists to increase their stay in the area; continuing to link tourism exploitation and developing industries to contribute to ensuring jobs and stable income for local people. Focusing on converting crops, livestock, and industries serving tourism, while forming specialized commodity growing areas. Actively develop a project to build a coastal tourism city and submit it to the Government for approval, thereby focusing on developing in the right direction...

To effectively solve these tasks, the key issues that the Town needs to focus on are maintaining national solidarity; building a strong political system; strengthening training and using cadres, and meeting the requirements.
