Despite many difficulties, Nghe An province has determined that investing in the construction of traffic infrastructure is meaningful in paving the way, creating a strong impression, so that investors can focus on key projects. Coming to the gateways of Vinh City today, visitors will encounter majestic overpasses that stretch out, changing the face of the city. The completed National Highway 46B connects with National Highway 46, National Highway 7, and the transport route from Thanh Thuy Border Gate to Cua Lo Port, becoming a particularly important route in the development of the East-West economic corridor. At the same time, National Highway 46B also contributes to promoting connections in the tourism chain between Cua Lo beach, Vinh City, Hung Nguyen to Kim Lien Relic Site (Nam Dan) with the western districts of the province (this is also the main route for visitors from all over to return to President Ho Chi Minh's homeland, shortening 1/4 of the travel time from Cua Lo beach to Kim Lien Relic Site, Uncle Ho's homeland). Along with that, the North-South railway overpass on National Highway 1, is the northern gateway of Vinh City, connecting Vinh City with the Southeast Economic Zone, North Vinh, and Nam Cam Industrial Park. This is also the route connecting the seaport, airport and the western economic zone of the province.
With the investment in the construction of the traffic system, the traffic connection within the Nghi Son triangle (Thanh Hoa) - Vinh City - Vung Ang (Ha Tinh) has been strengthened; the connection within the province is the triangle of Hoang Mai, Dong Hoi - Southeast Economic Zone, Vinh, Cua Lo - Western Nghe An. From this traffic connection, there is always an opportunity for Nghe An to accelerate the development of key economic zones. On the Vinh bypass, the road surface continues to be paved with asphalt concrete, upgrading the quality with the joy of the completion of Ben Thuy 2 bridge connecting the two banks of Lam river in the long connection journey with the Vung Ang economic zone (Ha Tinh).
The strategy of connecting intra-provincial traffic is highlighted by projects that bring urban areas closer together, such as Vinh City with Cua Lo - Cua Hoi. The 72m route from Quan Bau intersection to Vinh bypass, 7km long, is the starting point of Vinh - Cua Lo Boulevard, nearly 20km long, with a road width of 160m near Vinh Airport, which will be the driving force for the development of the Southeast Economic Zone of the province. Provincial Road 535 Vinh - Cua Hoi has been basically upgraded, and the investment project for Cua Hoi bridge across Lam River is underway. Thus, the traffic connection between the two largest urban areas of the province is gradually completed.
In particular, the 4-lane National Highway 1A through Nghe An, over 74 km long with a total investment of over 5,000 billion VND, has been completed on schedule. Along with that, the Western beltway of Nghe An has a strategic position in economic development, building the national defense and security posture in the border areas of the Fatherland. The total length of the route is over 180 km, passing through the 3 mountainous districts of Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong. At the beginning of the new year 2015, the construction of phase I has been completed, and the Nghe An Transport Department is actively promoting phase II of the Western route, meeting the needs of the people, ensuring national defense and security, and promoting the socio-economic development of the border areas.
Along with the traffic connecting the regions, the upgrading of Vinh Airport with a total investment of 1,000 billion VND with component projects including the Passenger Terminal, multi-level roads, car parking lots, parking lot expansion, serving large aircraft. Vinh Airport has opened the Vinh - Vientiane international route, increasing the total number of operating routes to 6, including 5 domestic routes. On average, there are 26 flights/day, of which Vinh - Ho Chi Minh City: 16 flights/day; Vinh - Hanoi: 4 flights/day. The province has advised to open 2 new routes: Vinh - Phu Quoc, Vinh - Taiwan. In particular, the Prime Minister approved the adjustment of the Vinh Airport Planning to become an international airport. This event not only contributes to the attraction of investment from domestic and foreign enterprises to Nghe An, but also connects and strongly develops the tourism industry; At the same time, it is an important highlight for Nghe An to take off, contributing to promoting the socio-economy of the province and the entire North Central region.
The Cua Lo deep-water seaport system and Dong Hoi port are also included in the Vietnam seaport planning. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Sinh, representative of the Nghe An compatriots association in Germany, happily said: “After many years away from home, what I see clearly changes is the infrastructure that the province pays attention to investing in. Synchronous traffic helps people travel conveniently, especially creating a good impression for investors when coming to Nghe An. This is the driving force to "attract" investment enterprises to help the province develop quickly and strongly. We have invested in Minh Anh Garment Company for more than 7 years now, I see that the province still has a lot of potential, so I will call on overseas Vietnamese to continue to invest in Nghe An”.
Along with the large strategic projects being implemented in the province, localities are actively implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, many village roads and alleys have been upgraded and expanded, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development in regions. Talking to us, comrade Nguyen Hong Ky - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Transport said: "To achieve that result, the province has focused on synchronous investment in the transport system. Along with capital from the budget, the provincial leaders also have a policy of mobilizing other capital sources to build traffic such as BOT, mobilizing capital from enterprises and residential areas in urban and rural areas; taking advantage of the help of the Central Government, the coordination of all levels and sectors to attract many projects, invest in building many connecting traffic works for development".
The achievements in traffic construction in the area have contributed to raising the position of the province as the center of the North Central region. New bridges and roads are opening up prospects, creating conditions to attract domestic and foreign investors to Nghe An to promote the development of economic zones, industrial parks, etc.
