Building a national defense foundation with a solid people's security posture

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 15, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to review national defense and security work in 2017 and deploy key directions and tasks for 2018.

In 2017, Nghe An effectively carried out the task of building and consolidating the national defense associated with the people's security posture, the people's border defense and the people's fire prevention and fighting, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the armed forces in complex situations.

At the same time, the construction of defense zones, protection of national security, fight against crime, state administrative management of national defense, training, exercises, combat readiness, military recruitment, and military rear policies have been carried out with the highest results.

In particular, the provincial defense area exercise, with its ability to maneuver and coordinate operations among forces, was a great success and was highly appreciated by the Military Region, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security.

Over the past year, the situation of security, order, social safety, and crimes in our province has remained complicated... The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee have promptly directed functional forces to intervene, take control of the situation, proactively come up with drastic and reasonable solutions, resolve the case in the right direction, and maintain political security in the area.

Regarding the 2018 tasks, the conference determined to focus on promoting the strength of the entire political system and the great national unity bloc, consolidating the national defense posture associated with people's security and strong national border defense; building a strong foundation, implementing democratic regulations well; building a strong military, police, border defense, fire prevention and fighting force, acting as the core in advising and implementing national defense and security tasks in the area.

Concluding the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Dai highly appreciated the results of the national defense and security work in 2017, and at the same time requested that functional forces need to properly implement the policies, resolutions, laws, and ordinances of the Party and State, thereby promptly detecting, fighting, preventing, and defeating the plots and activities of hostile forces.

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested all levels and sectors to continue promoting propaganda work on sea and island sovereignty; focus on raising spirit and responsibility, effectively implementing the work of preventing and suppressing violations of the law, social evils, and corruption; Strengthening State management in fire prevention and fighting; Implementing well social policies, military rear areas and paying attention to caring for people with meritorious services who are facing difficulties in life... From there, building a national defense associated with an increasingly solid people's security posture.

On this occasion, 16 collectives were awarded emulation flags by the Provincial People's Committee and 54 collectives and 58 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in national defense and security work in 2017.
