Building Nghe An into a center for training high-quality human resources in the North Central region

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 3, under the chairmanship of comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee met to discuss a number of important programs and projects.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee listened to and commented on the results of 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 20 of the Party Central Committee on "Continuing to build the Vietnamese working class in the period of accelerating national industrialization and modernization". In general, after 5 years of implementing Resolution 20, Nghe An's working class has developed rapidly in terms of quantity, diversified structure, and is the main force operating production tools and transferring new technology. As of 2012, the total number of workers was nearly 260,000, an increase of more than 175,000 compared to 2007.

The number of skilled workers increased from 32.6% in 2008 to 45% in 2012, the number of highly skilled workers increased from 3.9% in 2008 to 5.54% in 2012. Working conditions as well as the material and spiritual life of workers in enterprises have gradually improved. However, currently, the issue of employment, income, and insurance for workers, especially for female workers in some enterprises, is not guaranteed. The rate of party members in the workforce is low. The rate of trained workers is only 45% (target 60-70%)...

Concluding this content, the Provincial Party Secretary suggested that it is necessary to focus on building social housing projects; attracting investment to create jobs, improve the material and spiritual life of workers; paying attention to developing and promoting cadres from the working class, strengthening the role of state management over enterprises, improving the quality of schools and vocational training centers towards building Vinh into a center for human resource training.

Following the meeting this morning, the Provincial Party Standing Committee listened to and commented on the report summarizing 10 years of implementing Conclusion No. 20 of the Politburo on Nghe An. Regarding the progress of implementing projects according to Conclusion No. 20, up to now, 15 projects have been implemented on schedule, 14 projects are continuing to be implemented; 3 projects have been adjusted and removed from the planning according to new development requirements, including: Cua Lo Industrial Park, Phu Quy Industrial Park and Soda Factory.

To continue implementing Conclusion No. 20, Nghe An recommends and proposes to the Politburo to continue supporting the programs and projects identified by the Politburo; Including the Phu Quy area in the planning to become a high-tech agricultural area nationwide. Agreeing to allow Nghe An to implement specific policies related to the cultural field according to the major cultural program and national target program; Supporting and developing Nghe An into a center for training high-quality human resources in the North Central region; Speeding up the implementation of a number of key projects in the area that have been concluded by the Central Government.

Also this morning, the Provincial Party Standing Committee listened to and gave opinions on the "Project for developing Western Nghe An until 2020".
