Construction of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at K9

On the morning of March 17 in Hanoi, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House at the K9 relic site in Ba Vi district, Hanoi. Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended and gave the groundbreaking order.

In 1957, during a visit to inspect the 308th Division's exercise on the Da River, seeing the rugged terrain, the "beautiful mountains and rivers" landscape, the cool climate, ensuring secrecy, and convenient transportation, Uncle Ho chose to build it as a Central base. This is also the place where Uncle Ho and the Central leaders worked during the resistance war against the US, where he received international friends.

Later, this was the place to protect and preserve his body in absolute safety during the fierce war years. Today, it is a place to educate and propagate to all classes of people about beloved Uncle Ho and a place to continue the historical and cultural source of the Ho Chi Minh era.

Over the past 20 years, the K9 relic site has welcomed more than 30,000 delegations, with more than 1 million people coming to visit, plant souvenir trees, organize ceremonies to report achievements, Party and Youth Union admission ceremonies, and traditional activities. At the same time, visiting and admiring the gardens that Uncle Ho planted, the artifacts that he used, and the works to preserve and maintain his body when he passed away, everyone was moved with emotion.

With such meaning, the construction of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House is a continuation of the works in the Relic Site of the President in Da Chong, Ba Vi, Hanoi, contributing to the education and propaganda of the ideology and moral example of Ho Chi Minh. The project is expected to be completed on May 19, 2015, on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birth.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested the Ministry of National Defense, relevant ministries and branches and Hanoi City to pay attention to directing and assisting the Mausoleum Management Board in comprehensively completing the tasks of long-term preservation, absolute safety protection of President Ho Chi Minh's body and promoting the political and cultural significance of the Mausoleum in the new period, together with the entire Party and people to promote the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's moral example.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also affirmed that the groundbreaking ceremony for the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House has profound significance in disseminating, preserving and promoting President Ho Chi Minh's morality in the new era.
