Building new rural areas in Pieng Pho village
Pieng Pho village was established in 1985, has 45 households with 128 people. 100% of households here are Thai ethnic people. This is one of the oldest cultural villages in Ky Son.
Currently, there are no poor households in the village, the number of well-off and rich households accounts for nearly 50%. Over 90% of households have motorbikes and audio-visual equipment. 39 families meet the criteria of Cultural Families. No one in the village has a third child. Social evils such as drugs and gambling are minimized. Once a week, the village launches a campaign to clean up. Therefore, the village is the only village in the district to be recognized as a clean and green village. Special attention is paid to the care of children's education, 100% of children of school age are encouraged to go to school. And it has become a tradition that at 7 pm when the village chief rings the gong, the students sit at their desks to study. These are things that not every mountainous village can do.

Along with that, economic development is also focused. Based on natural advantages, the village develops cattle and buffalo farming. Up to now, on average, each household has 4-5 cows, bringing the number of cows in the whole village to nearly 150, nearly 300 pigs, 3,000 chickens and ducks. Each household has a vegetable garden, not only enough to provide for themselves but also to sell to the market. In particular, Pieng Pho village has been very successful in building separate barns, not only changing the habit of free-range cattle and poultry of the people but also protecting the environment. And that is just one of many criteria implemented in Pieng Pho village in the new rural construction movement.
Along with that, the traditional brocade weaving industry is maintained. Thanks to that, the people's lives are increasingly prosperous. "Pieng Pho village is interested by departments and organizations, the village chief like me often collects the State's policies and guidelines that are beneficial to the people to disseminate to them, such as raising livestock and crops to help people develop their economy better than previous years. The village is trying to mobilize the villagers to build criteria for New Rural Areas" - Mr. Lo Van Xuan - Head of Pieng Pho village - Pha Danh - Ky Son confided.
With the consensus of the cadres and people, the face of Pieng Pho village is changing day by day. The criteria for building new rural areas are being gradually completed here so that the village will be one of the first villages in Ky Son to successfully build this model.
