Building new rural areas in Quynh Minh
(Baonghean) -Coming to Quynh Minh (Quynh Luu), you can walk on a straight, wide village road that still smells of asphalt. On one side is a residential area, and on the other side is a lush vegetable field, with tomatoes, scallions, carrots, etc. grown according to VietGAP standards. The mark of new rural construction in Quynh Minh has been evident after the process of people donating land, contributing to the construction of rural roads, and then consolidating and exchanging plots.
Being a coastal sandy area of Quynh Luu, with a harsh climate and difficult life for the people, the people of Quynh Minh have a sharp and dynamic mindset in economic development and have experience in growing vegetables for sale. Implementing the new rural construction program associated with land consolidation, the Party Committee of the commune has developed many action programs suitable to the weather, climate and land conditions of the coastal area to implement and achieve good results. Previously, Quynh Minh specialized in producing food crops, with unstable income depending on the weather. Faced with this situation, the commune has advocated switching to specializing in growing vegetables for sale to serve the consumption needs in and outside the province. Thanks to that, the revenue from vegetables has continuously increased, accounting for a high proportion of the total revenue of the whole commune.
The road to Quynh Minh is wide, airy and beautiful.
From the characteristics of the land specializing in commercial vegetable production, there is a requirement to build new, expand and harden the roadbed in the whole commune. Although the budget is limited, while investment in traffic infrastructure requires a large amount of funding, the Party Committee of the commune has determined the policy of "Marching and lining up", launching a movement to donate land for road construction. Mr. Hoang Van Tuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, said: In the past 2 years, thanks to the good work of the entire political system from the commune to the grassroots, people have voluntarily donated more than 2,000m2 of land, thousands of working days, dismantled many surrounding walls, livestock houses and agreed to clear thousands of square meters of land to build rural roads. With local capital and people's contributions, Quynh Minh has built more than 2km of asphalt road, the total value of the project is over 3 billion VND. Among hundreds of households voluntarily donating land, many typical examples responded very positively such as Mr. Tran Cac, Mr. Tran Cuong, Mr. Hoang Van Thuan... who took the lead and mobilized neighbors to donate land to expand village roads, thanks to which up to now, the rural traffic system has been solidified with asphalt and concrete nearly 100%.
However, to implement the target program of building new rural areas, there are still many tasks and projects to be built, requiring consensus and cooperation and contribution from the people. Therefore, the Steering Committee for building new rural areas in Quynh Minh commune continues to strengthen propaganda work to change people's awareness, so that people voluntarily join hands to contribute and clear the land for projects within the planned road boundary.
