(Baonghean) - Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development, these days, parishioners of Thuan Giang Parish, Quynh Hung Commune, Quynh Luu District are together dismantling the surrounding walls and donating land to expand roads according to new rural standards. The atmosphere of the people's campaign is very urgent and exciting, because everyone is aware that when expanding roads, the people will be the first to benefit.

With the propaganda and mobilization of the local government, parish priest, and parish committee, Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien's family, hamlet 11, Thuan Giang parish, Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Luu district, voluntarily donated 27 square meters of land to expand the road according to new rural standards, including 20 square meters of wall and 7 square meters of warehouse. In the past few days, he has mobilized his children, grandchildren, and relatives to demolish the wall and hand over the land to the hamlet to pour concrete roads. Mr. Nguyen Vinh Hien said: "The State's policy is very good and correct. Donating land to expand the road is both beautiful for the village and the hamlet and convenient for the people. When the policy was issued, the people agreed to voluntarily demolish the wall and hand over the land to the hamlet to build the road."

Like the parishioners, these days, the family of parishioner Bui Trong Thuyen is also actively dismantling the surrounding wall to serve the expansion of roads according to new rural standards. His family is one of the households that donated the most land and property of the parish with 51 square meters of land. Thanks to that, from the narrow roads of 2 - 2.5m, they are now expanded to 3.5 - 4m. The expanded roads create favorable conditions for him and the parishioners to travel and live, while promoting the development of the carpentry profession of Thuan Giang parish. Mr. Bui Trong Thuyen said: “We completely agree and look forward to it. Since then, the roads have been very narrow and dirty. This time, with the support of the State, the mobilization of the parish priest and all the parishioners, we have responded to donate land to widen the roads.

Thuan Giang Parish, Quynh Hung Commune has 368 households with nearly 2,000 people. Of which, 160 workers participate in the production of fine art civil carpentry with an average income of 40 - 45 million VND/person/year. From carpentry, parishioners have a prosperous life, economic and cultural life is also improving day by day. Implementing the policy of building new rural areas, currently, from the cement support source of the province, parishioners in Thuan Giang Parish have voluntarily contributed thousands of square meters of land, hundreds of working days and money to widen 4 roads with a total length of 500m according to new rural standards.

Building new rural areas is a major policy of the Party and State to gradually modernize agriculture and rural areas, contributing to changing the lives of farmers. However, in order for that policy to be successfully implemented soon, it is necessary to have the solidarity and consensus of all classes of people. Promoting the solidarity of the parishioners of Thuan Giang Parish contributes to speeding up the progress of building new rural areas in the locality.
