Building tourism products with Nghe An identity

(Baonghean) - To solve the problem of tourism products, in recent times, Nghe An has organized many promotions and advertisements to collect comments from experts and businesses, thanks to which there have been many sincere comments, suggesting many solutions for sustainable development of Nghe An tourism.

Development of high-end beach resorts

Nghe An sea area has a coastline stretching over 82 km with a long, flat coastline with many beautiful beaches, white sand, clear water, moderate salinity, clean environment, convenient for developing resort and sea bathing tours. Nghe An sea with a clean environment, beautiful natural scenery, rich marine flora and fauna... is also a potential resource to exploit and strongly develop sea tourism.

To better exploit the potential of sea tourism, Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh - General Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said: Nghe An needs to take Kim Lien and sea tourism as the core to spread from there. With sea tourism, Nghe An must have more high-class, unique sea resorts in Cua Lo, Cua Hoi, Bai Lu... aiming to serve long-stay guests with high spending.

Nghe An is wasting winter sea tourism. In developed countries, tourists go to the sea not only to swim or enjoy seafood but also to explore the sea space. Therefore, Nghe An sea tourism needs to renew itself, become more attractive, and have more entertainment services. To do this, hotels and resorts must invest, and not just one unit but many units must participate and implement together. Authorities at all levels need to have policies to promote and strongly propagate to change the mindset of tourism workers so that sea tourism can develop in winter.

Interested in cultural and culinary tourism

Currently, Nghe An has 1,395 relics that have been inventoried and managed, of which 375 relics and scenic spots have been ranked, including 3 special national relics, 137 national relics and 235 provincial relics. These are available resources for Nghe An to exploit for tourism development.

According to Mr. Vu The Binh - Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association: There are many historical and cultural relics in Nghe An, but we should not exploit all of them, but focus on the key points - focus on the destination that everyone knows, which is the Kim Lien National Special Historical Relic Site. Nghe An needs to focus on building tourism products right in Kim Lien. An example is building community tourism so that tourists can search for the cultural values ​​of a special village in the North Central region "full of Nghe character", learn about the values ​​of the representative intangible cultural heritage of Vi and Giam folk songs.

Mr. Vu The Binh also stated: Nghe An needs to clearly identify its potential to identify the target tourists. Tourists coming to Nghe An are mostly domestic tourists. The characteristic of Vietnamese people is to love to explore the cuisine and available products. So we must pay attention to this to develop in a direction that meets the needs of tourists.

Regarding tourism products, Dr. Nguyen Bao Thoa - Director of the Vietnam Institute for Rural Industry Development Research said: "Currently, Nghe An is quite diverse and rich in agricultural tourism products. These are fresh agricultural products, processed agricultural products, medicinal herbs, souvenirs - furniture - decorations from rattan and bamboo. The story now is that Nghe An needs to develop its brand further"... And Dr. Ando Katsuhiro - Showa Women's University, JICA expert in Vietnam said: "If Nghe An has good agricultural products - tourism gifts, it needs to continue to promote and advertise them in many diverse, rich and attractive forms. Besides, it is necessary to take care of the quality and design of the products and pay special attention to the issue of food hygiene and safety".

Towards ASEAN and international vision

In the Vietnam tourism development strategy, Nghe An has a special position, being the tourism center of the North Central region. However, currently, Nghe An tourism has not yet fully exploited its potential advantages as a center. Mr. Truong Quoc Hung - Chairman of the UNESCO Travel Club in Hanoi said: Nghe An needs to build chains and tourism product packages that connect regions such as Thanh Hoa and Ha Tinh to facilitate tourists and increase competitiveness. Currently, we have not yet defined any specific tourism routes from Nghe An and connecting with other regions... To perform well the function of a regional center, Nghe An needs to maintain domestic flights and open more international flights. Currently, the demand for foreign travel of Nghe An people is also very high. Only with international flights can there be international tourists, because in reality, tourism products in Vietnam have many similarities and Nghe An is not the best choice.

Regarding the promotion of the effectiveness of the flight route, Korean journalist Kim Seok Moo suggested: In Vietnam, Da Nang is a destination chosen by many Korean tourists because of its beautiful scenery and cheap prices. Nghe An needs to have measures to attract and exploit the Vinh - Da Nang flight route to bring Korean tourists to its locality. This means that Nghe An needs to increase promotional activities more at the points with flights connected to Vinh city.

Mr. Phung Quang Thang - Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association commented: Currently, Nghe An has developed community tourism in Con Cuong. However, we need to look further, that is National Highway 7 connecting to Laos. This is a good route, the lifeline of ASEAN. Developing tourism along National Highway 7 will help Nghe An have new "assets" such as the Plain of Jars, tourist attractions of Xieng Khouang (Laos). National Highway 7 is a convenient route for international tourists to Nghe An.

With the development of economic life, the demand for family travel will increase in the near future. With each family owning a car for self-sufficient travel, Highway 7 is the door that opens to ASEAN tourists. The tourism products on this road are Pu Mat National Park - Con Cuong - Kim Lien - Vinh - Cua Lo Community Tourism, Sunflower Fields...
