In Son Thanh commune, comrade Ho Duc Phoc and the provincial delegation inspected the implementation of the new rural construction program according to the criteria in the commune's hamlets; visited and presented gifts to the family of Ms. Le Thi Thanh, a former Youth Volunteer, a 4/4 war invalid, hamlet 10; visited and presented gifts to the family of Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, 80 years old, a poor family in hamlet 19; encouraged the people of Nguyen Hue hamlet who are building rural roads; and visited the NTT unburnt construction materials factory.

Working with Son Thanh commune, Comrade Nguyen Tri Hoa - Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Steering Committee for New Rural Construction of Son Thanh commune reported to the Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Working Group on the results of the implementation of the national target program on new rural construction. Accordingly, after 2 years of implementing the Program, Son Thanh has achieved the remaining 5 criteria, being the first commune in the province to reach the finish line earliest in new rural construction. To achieve this goal, the Party Committee and People's Committee of Son Thanh commune have done a good job of propaganda, mobilizing resources, making people understand the purpose and meaning of the program and farmers as the main subjects of the construction process.

The total mobilized budget for the implementation of the Program in 2 years of the commune reached 75 billion VND, of which 52 billion VND was invested in traffic infrastructure; 10.4 billion VND was converted into land and 12.6 billion VND was built into schools and upgraded cultural houses. The whole commune has built 10.2 km of commune roads, 35.9 km of hamlet roads, of which 27.6 km have been concreted, and 27 km of the 50 km of intra-field roads have been graded. Son Thanh commune is the only commune in Yen Thanh district to date that has achieved 18/19 criteria (except for the market criterion). Implementing the national target program for new rural construction has created a driving force for competition to develop production and build a new face here.
The report on the results of implementing the national target of new rural construction in Yen Thanh district shows that: with the drastic direction of the Party Committee and authorities from the district to the grassroots level, out of 38 communes in the district, 3 communes have achieved 14-18 criteria; 17 communes have achieved 9-13 criteria; 16 communes have achieved 5-8 criteria; 2 disadvantaged communes have only achieved less than 5 criteria.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc praised and acknowledged the efforts of the Party Committee and the people of Son Thanh commune to strive to become the leading commune in the province to achieve 18 criteria for new rural construction, and also the first unit in the province to achieve new rural criteria. This is the result of the leadership of the Party Committee and local government, especially the consensus, unanimity, and joint efforts of the entire people.
The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the commune must have a direction in using the capital resources that the commune has advantages in to invest in sustainable economic development, by investing in building production facilities, craft villages, building high-income fields, becoming a model in the field of economic development; at the same time, it is noted that the transportation system must ensure safety and be used effectively; the built infrastructure must be maintained. The commune needs to develop a commercial system, markets, financial services, and banks to create favorable conditions for production development; build a cultural and spiritual life, promote the tradition of solidarity, and strive to build Son Thanh into a model, a typical example in building new rural areas in the coming time.
