Building Vinh City into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region according to Resolution 26 of the Politburo

(Baonghean.vn) -Under the chairmanship of comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on the afternoon of August 22, the Provincial People's Committee continued its regular meeting for August 2013.

At the meeting, the leaders of Vinh City People's Committee reported on the implementation results of Decision No. 239/2005/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on building Vinh City into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region; Plan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vinh City's establishment, 20 years of Type II Urban Area, 5 years of Type I Urban Area.

Concluding this content, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong assessed: After 7 years of implementing the Prime Minister's Decision, conditions have been created for Vinh city to develop more and more. However, the city's site clearance work has not ensured development; the water supply and drainage system has not met the requirements; some seriously degraded houses have not been renovated according to the set schedule.

The Provincial People's Committee agrees with the proposals and recommendations of Vinh City; at the same time, assign departments and branches to coordinate with Vinh City to have a plan to work with relevant ministries and branches, creating conditions for Vinh City to develop quickly and sustainably. Focus on preparing well for the 50th anniversary of Vinh City's establishment. In the coming time, the City will continue to overcome existing limitations and have solutions to soon build Vinh City into an economic and cultural center of the North Central region in the spirit of Resolution 26 of the Politburo.

Next, the People's Committee of Cua Lo Town reported the results of 7 years of implementing Resolution No. 05-NQ/TU dated September 26, 2006 of the Provincial Party Committee on building and developing Cua Lo Town into a tourist city by 2015, with a view to 2020.

Regarding this content, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership and direction of Cua Lo town, which has contributed to changing the urban appearance and improving people's lives. He emphasized that in the coming time, the town needs to focus on planning work; building Cua Lo into a tourist town, in which it is necessary to pay attention to the construction of important works to enhance the beauty of the town. He requested Cua Lo town to complete the report to submit to the Provincial Party Committee for comments.
