Building the Vietnam-Korea Technical Vocational College into a high-quality school
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 27, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology to listen to and give opinions on the Project to develop into a high-quality school in the period 2015-2020 and the Project to upgrade the school in phase III sponsored by the Korean Government.
Attending and directing were Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong, leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Home Affairs, Planning and Investment, Finance, Construction; Education and Training.

Vietnam - Korea Vocational College of Technology and Engineering has been in operation since 2000, currently has 176 staff, workers, training 9 faculties with a flow of about 3,000 students in vocational colleges, vocational intermediate schools and 500 short-term students. In 5 years (2010-2014), the school has trained 5,297 students in vocational colleges and vocational intermediate schools, graduated 3,621 students and of which about 80% have jobs. Korean and Japanese language training for 3,987 workers abroad, cooperating with many businesses nationwide in recruiting students after training.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duy Nam, Principal of the school presented the Project to develop the school into a high-quality school. The project is divided into 2 phases: Phase 2015 - 2017, developing a plan and implementing to achieve 6 criteria of high-quality vocational schools; Enrolling and selecting a number of students to pilot training according to the program of advanced countries approaching ASEAN and international countries. Phase 2018 - 2020: Improving the indicators of high-quality vocational schools and by 2018, having enough conditions to be accredited to become a high-quality vocational school...

Regarding the project to upgrade and build the Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical Vocational College in the period of 2012 - 2020 with a total value of 7.6 million USD, funded by the Korean Government. The project will be implemented within a period of 36 months starting from 2014 - 2016, focusing on 6 main contents: consulting on operational management, building practice workshops, providing necessary equipment for vocational training, sending Korean experts to participate in teaching, training teachers and developing training materials.
At the meeting, representatives of the Departments and branches gave their opinions on the contents of supplementing necessary items of the project, planning work, facilities, capital sources, etc. After listening to the opinions of the delegates, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded: These are two important contents to turn the school into a high-quality school in the coming time. He requested the school leaders to accept the comments of the Departments and branches and continue to collect opinions of the branches to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval.
In the coming time, domestic and foreign enterprises continue to invest in the area, so the demand for high-quality labor is increasing. Therefore, the school needs to improve the quality of teaching and learning to complete the task of providing labor in the coming time. He requested that the sectors continue to pay attention to contributing to improving the quality of vocational training, solving employment for local children and building Nghe An into a center for human resource training in the region. Regarding the school's proposals and recommendations, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee basically agreed in principle and assigned the school to work directly with relevant departments and sectors to complete the documents and procedures to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and resolution.
