36 fires occurred in Nghe An in the first 6 months of 2019

(Baonghean.vn) - The fire and explosion situation is complicated, causing very serious damage to people and property. In response to this reality, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh has just signed Official Dispatch No. 08/CD-UBND, directing the strengthening of measures to ensure fire prevention and fighting safety during the hot season in the area.

The document only states: Recently, the fire and explosion situation across the country has become complicated, with many fires causing serious damage to people and property, greatly affecting production and business activities, the investment environment and people's lives.

In Nghe An province, according to statistics, in the first 6 months of 2019, there were 36 fires and explosions, killing 1 person, injuring 3 people, and causing property damage of tens of billions of VND.

In the coming time, according to forecasts, the temperature in the North Central region in general and Nghe An province in particular will continue to remain high, combined with strong southwest winds and prolonged sunny weather, which are factors that affect the risk of fires, explosions, and forest fires. To proactively prevent and stop fires and explosions from occurring in the province, and at the same time strictly implement the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 584/CD-TTg dated May 19, 2019 on strengthening fire prevention and fighting.

The Provincial People's Committee requests the Directors of Departments, Heads of provincial-level departments, branches, and organizations and Chairmen of District, City, and Town People's Committees to continue to seriously implement Official Dispatch No. 06/CDUBND dated May 22, 2013 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on strengthening fire prevention and fighting for facilities located in industrial parks; production facilities and warehouses with fire and explosion hazards located in residential areas and high-rise buildings.
Responsible for fire prevention and fighting at the agency or unit under his/her management; organize, inspect and supervise the maintenance of measures to prevent and stop fires and explosions; especially the management and use of electrical systems, equipment and dangerous flammable and explosive substances and goods. Establish and maintain the effective operation of the facility fire prevention and fighting team; ensure funding, equipment and other necessary conditions for fire prevention and fighting according to regulations.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Provincial Police, Department of Information and Communications, Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Department of Industry and Trade, Provincial Military Command, Provincial Military Command, Border Guard Command, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Culture and Sports with the tasks of their units in charge to coordinate with related units to do a good job of strengthening fire prevention and fighting safety.
