Fire broke out at the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development in Nam Dan district.

Although two security guards promptly used fire extinguishers on the spot to put out the fire, the fire spread so quickly that they had to helplessly wait for the provincial fire police to come to the rescue.

After more than 35 minutes, the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police force of the Provincial Police and the Hong Son Fire Fighting Police Team of Vinh City arrived and deployed forces to promptly extinguish the fire.

The first floor was burned down.

After nearly 2 hours of professional firefighting efforts by the fire police, the fire was completely controlled at 10:20 am. However, the fire had spread to the second floor through the stairs and burned down some rooms on the second floor. All machinery, equipment, transaction records, tables, chairs, cabinets... on the first floor were burned down. Fortunately, the room storing deposit, loan, and money records was stopped by the fire police in time when the fire just reached it.

Mr. Nguyen Sy Hien - Director of Nam Dan Branch of the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development said: Money and documents of loans and deposits are still safe. All data is stored on the server of the provincial bank and the central bank. People can rest assured that all activities of the bank will not be affected.

The leaders of the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, Nam Dan Police, the Director of the Provincial Bank and the Director of Nam Dan Bank had a quick meeting on the spot. In the immediate future, the District Police will deploy forces to protect the scene throughout the night of the 25th so that on the 26th they can organize an investigation to clarify the cause and extent of the damage. The District will create conditions for the bank to have a place to do transactions immediately, so as not to affect the bank's operations.

According to initial assessment, the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
