Due to loss of control, the car plunged down the mountainside at a depth of 300 meters.
On April 22, at least 17 Indian pilgrims were killed and 30 others injured in a serious bus accident on a mountainous road near the capital of Nepal, Kamandu.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal said the accident happened as the bus carrying Indian pilgrims was returning from a visit to a shrine in the capital Kamandu.
Due to loss of control, the car plunged down the mountainside at a depth of 300 meters. Among the injured, many were in very critical condition.
A witness said the accident happened after the driver tried to avoid a motorbike coming in the opposite direction and lost control before skidding off the highway.
Poor road maintenance and vehicle facilities, along with the rugged mountainous terrain of Nepal, are common causes of bus accidents.
In March, at least 17 people were killed and dozens more injured when a passenger bus plunged into the Tila River due to slippery roads./.
