The fire also affected traffic in the area, paralyzing traffic towards District 7 for nearly 2 hours.

According to initial information, at the time, a 4-foot container truck with license plate 37K-0094 was traveling on Nguyen Van Linh Avenue, in the direction from Binh Chanh District to District 7, driven by driver Le Xuan Hieu, 28 years old, from Tay Ninh, when arriving at Toll Station No. 7, suddenly lost control of the steering wheel, ran towards the toll booth of 7-seat cars, the front of the car climbed up the embankment in front of the toll station about 0.5m high and hit the back of a 7-seat car with license plate 63LD-000.28 driven by driver Tran Bao Ca, 25 years old, from Vinh Long.

The strong collision between the two vehicles caused the container truck's oil pipe to break, the oil spilled out and caught on the sparks from the collision, causing a fierce fire. At this time, because the fire was strong and spread quickly, the people in the two vehicles above and the toll collectors only had time to run outside and escape.

The fire quickly burned down both the container truck and the 7-seat car. Notably, the container truck was carrying baled dry rubber latex from Vinh Long to Ben Nghe port and was completely burned. Property damage from the fire is estimated to be in the billions of dong.

Upon receiving the news, the Binh Tan District Fire Prevention and Fighting Police dispatched 4 specialized fire trucks and more than 30 soldiers to the scene to extinguish the fire. After more than 1 hour of urgent firefighting, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. Currently, the authorities are continuing to clarify the incident./.
