Container truck causes terrible accident, 2 people die

Unable to control its speed, the container truck crashed into a 4-seat car, then collided with a 16-seat vehicle, killing 2 people and injuring more than 10 others.

The tragic accident occurred at around 2:00 p.m. on March 8 on National Highway 1A, passing through Quang Linh commune, Quang Xuong district, Thanh Hoa.

According to people who witnessed the accident, at the time of the accident, the 4-seat car with license plate 30H-2453 was traveling from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An. When it reached the above road section, it encountered a crane that was working on the road.

By reflex, the car avoided the crane, but just then a container truck with a tractor-trailer bearing license plate 63L-9783 going in the opposite direction crashed into the 4-seater car.

The car was dented on one side of the front.

Tourist car and container truck plunge into construction pit

When hit, behind the 4-seat car was a 16-seat tourist car with license plate: 30K-5146, which was also pushed into the construction pit by the container truck.

According to initial information, two people in the 16-seat vehicle died on the spot (identities unknown), more than a dozen others were injured and taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the 4-seat car was dented on one side. The 16-seat tourist bus overturned and the container truck plunged into a construction pit.

After the accident, traffic police were present at the scene to regulate traffic to avoid local congestion and to help take the injured to the emergency room.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
