Tourist car rear-ends truck, 1 dead, 8 injured

(Baonghean.vn) - A tourist bus carrying passengers from Hanoi to Nha Trang in Nghe An had an accident, killing 1 person and injuring 8 others.

The above accident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. on May 20 on National Highway 1A, passing through Nghi Yen commune, Nghi Loc district.

According to local people, at the time of the above incident, the 12-seat passenger bus with license plate number 29B 08.905 (driver's identity unknown) was carrying a group of tourists on the way from Hanoi to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa). There were 9 passengers, 2 tour guides, and 1 driver on the bus.

When arriving at the above point, the passenger bus suddenly crashed into the back of a truck with license plate number: 88C-052.63 (driver unknown) traveling in the same direction (this truck had a flat tire lying on the road), so the passenger bus driver was unable to handle the situation in time and crashed into the back of the truck, causing serious consequences.

The crash was so strong that one passenger died on the spot; 8 others were injured and taken to Nghe An General Hospital 115 for emergency treatment. Among them, driver Nguyen Ba Thanh was seriously injured and is in critical condition.

Upon receiving the information, Nghi Loc District Traffic Police immediately arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and investigate the cause of the accident.
