'Tiger' truck plows through Provincial Road 538

(Baongheanvn) - For many years now, people in the western communes of Quynh Luu have been upset about the situation of provincial road 538 passing through the area being damaged by overloaded vehicles, causing the road to be covered in dust.

As a resident living right next to Provincial Road 538, Mr. Nguyen Tu Thuoc in Bac Thang hamlet, Tan Thang commune has to close his house tightly every day to avoid dust from the road.

Located about 1 km from his house, every day hundreds of trucks go to the 32.36 quarry belonging to Company 36 to transport materials. The road has been degraded for a long time, combined with overloaded trucks, causing the provincial road through Bac Thang hamlet to have many "potholes", many sections are curved like potato beds.

"People here always have to endure dusty roads. The roads are already narrow but overloaded vehicles still run noisily without any authorities taking action," said Mr. Thuoc.

According to research, Provincial Road 538 starts from Tuan station (Quynh Chau commune) to Tan Thang Cement Factory and goes to Hoang Mai town with a total length of about 24 km. Of which, many sections are seriously degraded such as the section in front of Quynh Chau fruit processing factory, the section through Dong Xuan hamlet (Quynh Thang) with a length of 4 km and many sections in Bac Thang hamlet (Tan Thang commune).

According to local residents, hundreds of cars travel on Provincial Road 538 every day. In particular, many trucks named Thanh Cong and Truong Xuan carrying overloaded materials are “destroying” the road every day; therefore, the asphalt layer on the provincial road is peeling off, and there are many cracked and sunken sections, posing a danger to road users.

Mr. Le Van Nga - Chairman of Quynh Thang Commune People's Committee said: AlthoughAlthough the road has been reported to the authorities many times, the deterioration on the provincial road has not been resolved, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents for people, especially at night. The authorities and the people request the authorities to repair and fix the damage, thereby ensuring safety for traffic participants./.
